    Sad Son

I feel good about myself right now. I've lost 36 pounds. I want to lose 75 so I feel good. I feel as though I look better, I definitely feel better. One of the ladies I work with the other day made a comment while describing someone she was talking about, which was trying to explain how big someone she had seen the day before was, and she said that the lady was bigger than me. The way she said it was like can you believe she's that big.....At first my feelings were hurt because I have tried so hard to lose and feel like I've done well for two months. Then I decided to consider the source and move on. I can't let things people say upset me or hurt me. It's so hard when we're kids though..I definitely feel for your son.

    Not Losing - What's Up?

I see on this forum a lot of people speak about eating a cup of food three times a day. How do you do that? My pouch is a 4 ounce pouch. I'm sure that must be the standard size. A cup of food seems like it would be more than 4 ounces. I tried to eat a cup of food and couldn't do it. Is there something I'm not understanding because I would love to eat a cup of anything that's healthy.

    Questions About The Iband?

I have the Iband also. Now, I'm not sure if what I have is what you're speaking about but my stomach has been stitched to make it smaller. It can be reversed. My surgeon mentioned that it's experimental and not sure if it makes losing any easier than without it. I know that I have a smaller stomach and that with my lapband and the implication I feel that I'm doing great. I had my surgery on 9/28 and have lost 32 pounds without having a fill.
  5. Wow you were banded yesterday and able to eat today. I was banded September 28th and I'm not eating regular foods until October 19th. Right now I'm still doing protein drinks for breakfast and lunch and soup for dinner. Good for you!

    Pretty Much A Failure!

I had my surgery on September 28th this year. I did not at all like the pre op diet and I'm enjoying even less the post op diet. However, I'm doing it and sticking to it which is something new for me. I think that with my experience anyway, you have to want this more than anything. I've stuck with both diets and had to go to the hospital once since surgery due to dehydration. I'm getting excited because this Friday I can eat eggs and fish. Just don't give up and don't be hard on yourself. It's a new learning experience and being hungry is very hard..
  7. Thank you for the advice. I will purchase the Collace because I believe it's needed. I'll just continue to do what I'm doing. Thanks again.
  8. I had my surgery on Friday the 28th. I know it's only been a few days but I'm uncomfortable each time I drink something. I feel so full and can't seem to figure out how much to drink. I'm supposed to drink 64 ozs. a day but I can't get that much down. I am drinking broth and juices. Can someone tell me what is normal. I had the iband..

    October Bandsters?

Mine is tomorrow..September 28th..I'm in Houston.
  10. I completely understand what you're feeling. I began to believe that I could do this without surgical help because I have been so compliant with the pre op diet. I know now after 16 days of not eating all day and then eating very little at night that I can't do it alone. I think doubting the procedure must go along with the procedure itself. I have been fine up until this week. My surgery is tomorrow and I'm nervous and anxious but I believe it's what I have to do. You will be fine. Anyone can find a way to cheat but I believe once going thru all of this before the surgery, I'm not going to want to cheat... Good luck..I love Dr. Hollis...
  11. Thank you so much. Your response is just what I needed to hear. There are so many questions that I can only get good answers from someone who has had the procedure. I am anxious about tomorrow but feel confident at the same time. I have a high tolerance for pain so I will take your advice to walk, walk, walk. I will go to the support group as soon as I can because I believe the more you know about what to expect the better. I have a friend that had the lap band surgery 5 years ago and she just never lost any weight. Of course, she didn't go for fills and wasn't compliant. I know that I can do this!!! Thanks again.
  12. I just noticed you had the same surgeon I am having. Did you go through True Results?
  13. Hi Amber, I'm in Houston and my surgery is scheduled for this Friday the 28th. I've been really calm and sure of my decision to have the procedure until today. I'm just hopeful I'm not making a mistake. I was up in the air about the lap band or the gastric sleeve. I did my research and decided the lap band would be less down time and no hospital stay so it won. I know the first few weeks are the hardest but if you could do it over again and not do it, would you? I appreciate any insight you might have for me.
