I know this is a little late but I agree with everyone else, counting calories is a must. A thousand calories a day is plenty when eating the right things and please don't stop walking. I lost 90 pounds just walking and counting calories before my surgery as the insurance made me wait 6 months. Challenge yourself a little bit everyday, if you were able to go up a little hill today do a bigger hill tomorrow. I used to say to myself ill make myself sweat a little bit more tomorrow. Good luck on your journey. Best wishes.

How Did You Decide You Were Through Being Fat
ginanyela replied to Mayasgram's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I always thought I was happy with myself inside and out but in reality it was just a cover up not to deal with my weight. I was always walking behind in family outings, I couldn't run after my 2 year old daughter and I was 100 pounds heavier than my husband. I decided to look into WLS and when I went to my first app and stepped on the scale for the first time, it read 299.5. I was shocked almost 300 pounds, I cried and decided enough was enough. 8 months later I had the surgery and today I said goodbye to the 220's. best thing I could of done. Stepping on that scale really opened my eyes to the level of denial that I was living. -

October 2012 Bandsters
ginanyela replied to NYTeacher's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello all. I just got banded today and they are keeping me overnight. The surgey went well and I'm not in pain from the band BUT the gas pains are incredibly painful. Any suggestions bc this pain is unbearable, also the repaired a hernia. Congrats to all October bandsters. -
Hi everyone I am getting banded on October 17. My surgeon has me on a 1000 calorie a day pre op. I was wondering if anyone else had to do the same. I do see that most banders had a liquid diet before surgey. I am eating low fat high Protein but worry that might my liver will still be fatty.
