ANYONE ELSE SLEEVED 5/28/13?
cms213 replied to bandtovsgdone52813's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved 5/28 and start soft foods on tuesday. Did they prescribe you any anti nausea meds? I came home with some that would need to be crushed but haven't felt like taking them. I'm just now able to take in more fluids I'm shooting for my 11oz Protein drink and about 40oz of Water. -
I'm a Pinterest gal and there are a ton of bariatric pizza friendly recipes. Some might be cauliflower crust, there are ones that has a no crust or ones that use wonton wrappers. I love to cook so I've spent a good chunk of my recovery looking up recipes to try on this new lifestyle.

I'm not a fan of the sourness of Greek yogurt but i add 5 tiny drops of stevia vanilla and it totally takes away the sour taste.

I'm the youngest in my hospitals support group and they don't judge me any differently. I hope it went well!

When I get tired of the premier protein shakes I add in a table spoon of PB2. -
The Seattle area doesn't always get the big fast food chains, I've noticed. They must think we are part of Canada. BBC thought the bridge that collapsed a few weeks ago was part of Canada. little off topic but the salads sound so good! (Especially being on the post op liquid phase)

I couldn't keep anything down for the first two days post op and I was on all kinds of anti nausea meds including the patch behind the ear. The third day the nausea started going away and I could very slowly start to sip. I hope this is the same for you and it's starting to go away!

First of all congrats to you and your mom! You know some people have a really fast recovery but I wouldn't plan on either of you having a fast recovery (always plan for the worst and hope for the best). I'm 8 days post op and there is no way I could take care of two small children but I am feeling pretty good just not THAT good. Is there somewhere the kids can go while your husband is at work?

Question for all the "Oh my god, what have I done?" people...
cms213 replied to HatheryOnHerWay's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never started a thread but did ask in one of the May sleever threads when does this get better when I was like a day or two post op. At that time I needed a little bit of a timeline of when things start to get better. I still look for that throughout the threads but I wouldn't say I regret it and I think the early stages are some of the hard times along with the pre op diet it had its own set of challenges. I know this doesn't answer the question but I always read the threads to what you are referring to. -

Haha there are so many food commercials!!! There is this Taco Bell beefy crunch burrito that I loved and that's now back for a limited time. When I saw the commercial I was like ARE YOU SERIOUS!! All I could think about was sinking my teeth into one. I'm 6 days post op and saw the commercial when I was 2 days post op.
-
Congrats! Hey how many days or weeks did it take till you were able to wear jeans again? I try putting on some clothes and it feels way too tight with my stomach. I'm 6 days post op.

Look you are almost done with your weigh to go jar!! What do you plan on doing for yourself when the to go jar is empty?

I wasn't lecturing you about post op drinks I just wanted the person that had questions about it to know every doctors rules and diets are different. I'm not perfect and in no way meant to make it seem like you were wrong. I apologize if you took it that way. -

Wasn't trying to make it a big deal I just wanted to let her know everyone's doctors diet is different. -

Follow whatever diet your doctors give you. Mine doesn't have a rule about dividing all I'm to do post op for the liquids is get in what you can wether its Protein or Water. -
There was someone that came on a couple days ago saying they were a couple days post op and ate a hot dog and ended up being fine but in some pain. Just be careful and maybe talk to your doctors office so they know and can let you know if it was ok.

Haha Laura your new picture makes me crack up every time I see it now. Did you change it so threads won't turn into arguments?

The surgeries are a little different. The sleeve they remove part of the stomach and the plication is where they turn part of the stomach in and not remove it. Or at least that's how I always understood the two to be different.

I can't wait till I'm on soft foods and can have a baby bel cheese I also like the laughing cow and add it to things like eggs or beans. I haven't had it since before surgery so I guess I'll find out in a couple weeks if I still like it.

My surgeon does the leak test during surgery so I didn't have a leak test after. However I was worried my stomach opening was too small because I kept throwing up but then I read the medications they kept trying to give me all said do not eat on an empty stomach.
