Is it wrong that I think I will order it and wait the 8 weeks. I want it to be a gift to myself for loosing 50lbs from my highest and in 8 weeks I for sure will be past that milestone. If I bought it today I'd open it now and then it really wouldn't be a gift

I was sleeved on May 28th and officially on a normal diet. I haven't met with my nutritionist yet to know calories but I'm guessing it'll be get your Protein and Water in. I've started to become pretty creative and I'm not too worried about carbs but I also only get 20-40 in a day so I think in all that isn't to bad. Last night I made a Cajun black bean quesadilla on a small corn tortilla. I also make a egg, ham and tiny bit of cheese scramble. chicken salad and through an egg in for extra protein. A lot of deli meat and cheese. I also made a pizza using the flat bread sliders with reduced sugar ketchup, cheese, and turkey pepperoni. Check out Pinterest for VSG, Bariatric or even RNY recipes. I always look for the boards and come up with a lot of ideas.

It's the fitbit one but it was the first one so it doesn't have the built in Bluetooth and a hair bigger than the current fitbit one.

I have the original fitbit that doesn't automatically sync but I love it. To award myself once I get to 50lbs lost from my highest I'm buying myself the new fitbit flex. I can't wait to break my stall and get to 50lbs.

I'm 5 weeks post op and really trying to do everything I can for my body right now. I've started working out 4-5 nights a week and slowly building my endurance back up and work on getting in shape. To start I could only do 30mins and tonight I hit 45mins. I'd like to keep building till I get to 60 mins but I know I need to start adding strength training in. My typical cardio consist of spinning, elliptical, and lap swim. Is this ok for right now? At what point should I add in strength training? Thanks!

Can someone explain why eating and drinking at the same time is forbidden?
cms213 replied to jacee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had water too soon after eating and it's not comfortable! I have also taken a tiny sip when things are to spicy or make me cough a little I try really hard not to tho. -
Awesome! Thanks for the info and yeah... I don't plan to ever power lift. but I would like to start toning over time.

You may want to call your dr and see if they will prescribe you anything. My laxatives are from my dr and if I haven't gone in two days I take them and go the next day.

Just take it slow and try the really soft stuff before you advance too much. When I started soft foods the 3rd week my tummy would make funny noises and I could feel it doing things. Now I don't feel any of that stuff.

Wow I wish I had someone that wanted to take care of me after surgery, you're wife is a lucky lady! The first few weeks are tough for the patient you are sore and don't have the same energy levels so reassure her this is part is temporary. As far as food did the hospital give her a binder of what to expect and the stages of food? I had that and would follow it. There were recipes in the back that I never tried but it gave me ideas of what I could start eating. Watch out for dehydration that seems to be pretty normal at some point get a little dehydrated. For me it was when I was thrown completely off my routine the 2nd week. Also Water tasted funny the first two weeks. Those are the things I noticed from surgery but a lot of it she'll have to do on her own and figure out what works for her. Good luck to her!

How scary!! I'm so happy you are ok and back with your family and back in good health. Take things slow little lady. -
Oh the red raised irritation started out on only one incisions and then over the week started on the rest.
-
The skin around all my incisions did get red and itched. It ended up being some type of reaction to the steri strips even now the skin is dry and took a while to look better after the strips were removed. My strips never fell off so after I had my two week post op my dr said they are fine and to remove the strips. The irritation started about a week or so post op.

I hope she's doing ok and didn't get on the plane home. Traveling in general can dehydrate you I'm not sure what it does when someone is already dehydrated. -
Sorry...but I have to ask...
cms213 replied to Karnie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They wouldn't let me leave the hospital till I had a bowl movement so they gave me laxatives every night. By day 3 I was running to the bathroom every hour. Since then I go about every other day or at least every 2-3 days. -
curious where other ppl are at around 3.5 mths out
cms213 replied to NicoleLpn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did you hit a the typical stall around week 3 or 4? I promised myself I wouldn't complain about the 3 week stall but I'd love to see the scale move again. Just wondering how long it lasted if you did encounter it. -
6 weeks post op...now what?
cms213 replied to ummsantos's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat a lot of cheese, turkey, eggs (scrambled with ham or egg salad), some fruit, half of piece of toast or 3 triscuits if I have a serving of bread, corn beef hash, ham salad made with feta and a tiny bit of mayo, protein shake in the morning. . I'm still figuring it out and having a hard time getting protein in but my calorie in take is 400-500 with about 50 grams of protein. I meet with my nutritionist in 2 weeks. I haven't tried pasta, rice, nuts or too many veggies. -
6 weeks post op...now what?
cms213 replied to ummsantos's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My 6 week diet is normal food. If you haven't started soft foods yet start those first. Slowly try one new thing at a time and see how your stomach does. That is my nuts advise. So sorry about your husband I hope he's doing better. -
When I had my two week I asked about the risk of complications he said after the first 4 days you are less liking to experience complications like a leak but he didn't say I was out of the clear but that it would be highly unlikely. So I'm almost 5 weeks out and knocking on wood that things go well for the recovery even though I feel normal now.

Burning Chest and Vomiting.

The yellow stuff coming up is stomach bile. I've thrown up twice post up and every time that's what I was throwing up. I started taking my antacids everyday after the last incident. Not sure why you are feeling the other things but some of it could have just been from side effects of throwing up. -

cms213 replied to lynndtt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My dr doesn't do drains for laparoscopic not sure why he doesn't but I'm exactly one month out and my incisions are healed. I'm happy there wasn't a drain. -
I was stuck and now I gained 3 lbs... IM FREAKING OUT
cms213 replied to Ana87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
During your stalls is when you might start to see the inches drop. I haven't measured or weighed for a couple days. I want to get my period started and almost over before I start weighing myself again.
