Help ..I cant loose the last 4 pounds needed to be approved
Mrs.Hansen88 replied to listic2001's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello- I too am at Kaiser Richmond w/Dr. Baggs. I started this process back in 2013 but ended up switching jobs so I lost my vacation and my insurance. I have gone back and forth since then. I have 17 pounds to lose and I am hoping that i can get in for surgery at the end of March so I feel for you. I have been following their diet plan and have been working out and the weight is just not coming off! : -( (I struggle with PCOS which makes losing weight extremely difficult). I hope that you are getting close to your goal! -

Any South San Francisco Kaiser Sleevers

I'm bummed, there seems to be so many SSF kaiser people, I'm at Kaiser Richmond. Had orientation Sep 28, appointment with surgeon Oct 4, psychology appointment Oct 31, and now I'm waiting. I went and did my blood tests and nicotine test last week. Passed everything, but because I smoked cigarettes I have to have quit for 12 weeks before they will give me the green light I guess. The quitting wasn't hard because I really want this but frustrated to have to wait so long. It'll be 7 weeks on Saturday. I'm curious tho what everyone had to do after they met their goal weight and did labs and the psychology appointment? Will I have to do more classes or just get to schedule my appointment with the case manager after I get the green light from my surgeon from the twelve weeks and my weight? Thanks everyone for any advice, I appreciate any info and advice. -
Which Kaiser are you going through? I'm going through the Richmond Kaiser. Congrats to you for losing as much as you have just in the preop stage. I only had to lose 10 pounds but now the key is keeping as much off as possible before I can get my surgery scheduled. How quickly after your pshychology eval did you get to see a case manager and schedule your day? I'm trying to figure out how far out I am looking considering the holidays are coming and I have to have enough sick leave at work. Thanks.

You look amazing (hot!)!!!!! You have every right to brag about how you are doing.. I can't wait to be able to do the same. Keep up the good work! :-) -
So I'm a newbie here and met with my surgeon for the first time today. I had orientation last week and was told that I immediately needed to start my preop diet and begin working out. I was really nervous at first but meeting with my doctor today really calmed those nerves. After failing at losing weight all my life I simply worry that I will fail at this too... I have to quit smoking which has proven to be not easy but this is important to me and I will make the commitment! I have my psychology appointment on the 31st and after that I simply have to hit my goal weight, get blood tests, and pass a nicotine urine test and then I am in the clear to see the case manager and schedule my surgery date. I must say that things will probably move much faster than I thought they would. I've seen so many people who have had to wait months but thank god I won't have to. (Btw I'm a Kaiser patient). I weighed in at 248.5 the day of my orientation (starting weight) and today at my appointment I weighed 241.5. So I have already lost 8 pounds in only a week of following the preop diet, pretty happy about that! My doctor set my goal weight at 238 so I only have 3.5 pounds to technically lose before I am given that go for surgery. My personal goal before surgery is at the very most 230. Any words of wisdom, encouragement, and guidance are always appreciated...! Thanks.
