I got the banded the "first time" back on February 2008, got only one fill. I got that last fill back on September 2008. I lost about 70 pounds. I went from size 22 almost 24 to size 12. I maintained on size 14 for about 3 years. On the last fill (09/08), my doctor told me that my pouch got larger and I needed to do a diet to reduce it and do the fill again, but never did it, never came back. Until summer 2012, I was gaining so much weight and I wasn't being successful in controlling it. I gained about 45 pounds, and went from size 14 to 18; I was desperate. I contacted my Dr. made an appointment for a fill, but the Dr. wasn't able to do it, something happened with the band, it slipped. My doctor thought he will be able to fix at his office, but it wasn't the case. On September 19th I got my "second surgery" and thank God everything went fine. He fixed the band and the feeling is like the first time I got banded.
I'm happy with the decision to fix it. I'm more mature this time, I know more about nutrition, I'm more aware of food choices and portion control. I know this time around I'll get to my goal weight.
