I got 2cc's in my band now.. and I drank the Water fine, as I drink my Protein shake, I do feel a difference. Oh man.. she tried to find the port, well she found it but took awhile to get the needle in place.. ya that hurt, she had me do a crunch and hold.. Ouuuch... she did said that would be the worse of it as the next time it will be so much easier. Saw the nutritionist today at my primary care office, and well, seems sorta expensive. I have insurance.. but she doesn't qualify for it since she is not a "licensed" Nut, only certified. I like her a lot, very caring.. she wouldn't give me any real info though until I make a decision to buy the package. She suggested I go on the HCG. 350. for the first month and 100.00 a month following up on her visits Is that a normal price? I have never been to a Nut before and not sure if that is a bit pricey or I should keep looking. She has written a book, and has appeared on good morning america and on the cover of people's magazine...her name is Camille Tirzah. Maybe that is why It seems pricey. I didn't know this, just called my primary care for an appt with a Nut. SHe has lost 100lbs herself and seems very sincere. What do you all suggest? That is a bit pricey for me.. but if it is the norm, hopefully I can come up with some plan. <3

Hey Kristin! Yes it's normal to be sore to get up and down, some take a bit longer to heal up. I had the same problem, was always sore getting up and down.. it lasted a few days, maybe a week and then one day it was just SOOO much better. I couldn't bend over for over a week but it wasn't too bad. I slept in my recliner for a week hehe. It will get better.. and congrats on your on your way to a new you! or the you that was always there just in hiding. *hugs*! good luck hun!

Grats Maddy!! that is great!! and you are too cute! in fact.. You ALL are dolls omg!! and thanks all.. I felt I needed a jump start in my metabolism.. and hoped this would be great.. I'll slow it down.. although I haven't been able to eat much, so I was going a bit insane.. I love ya guys.. you all are so helpful truly.. Minime.. so what are you doing to keep the weight coming off every week? I walked 30mins today and danced for 30mins.. and also, I can definitely relate.. not about the self sabotaging.. but everything else.. I really do see it all in a different light now, it's not the same as before when I would hop on a diet, it really does feel like a life change, and I watch everything I eat now.. though I do get discouraged a bit when I don't see results.. I am definitely going to only weigh myself once a week. I was weighing every morning only.. but yes it's not working. lol. again.. thanks all.. and patty I am sure you will receive some emails from me throughout this journey! <3 thanks all. -
Thats good to hear marie.. let us know how you're feeling!

Thanks maddy, I've also thought about that too, I haven't spoken to him about it, I do have my first fill on the 28th, which is when I planned to discuss it with him. Also making an appt tomorrow with a nutritionist. My surgeons office have never really sat down with me and discussed anything about eatings, how many calories I should have etc.. so this weds I plan to ask a bunch of questions. I should have way before, I'm just kinda shyish in a way >< so I tend to not know what to ask or being self conscious asking questions. I am getting over this! Thanks for your concern Maddy.. I'll definitely talk to them about this and let ya know what I am told! -
I also had a hiatal hernia repair and no fill in the band. I however don't feel restriction, but!! I do get satisfied with my smaller portions and stay that way for about 3 hrs. I have my first fill also on the 28th!!

What Happens Next?
destynee1 replied to oklafarmgal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same thing.. well, what did he say top you during your first appt? They should have given you something with everything you will need to do such as, medical of necessity you need from your primary Dr. blood work done from your primary, a psych evaluation, and a schedule an appt. with a nutritionist/dietian. should have pricing and all that? I had that done.. Just a "this is everything you need to be sent to your insurance". -

Be Honest- Is Banded Life Hard?
destynee1 replied to ireallywannabthin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have notice since being banded that it actually does feel like my mind has a slight band on it as well. I don't crave the things I use to.. which is crazy.. and it seemed as if one day I woke up knowing this is the way I am suppose to eat, and I really haven't had a hard time of it. There are days when I want to be bad but it's not like before while I was on some diet, and had a cheat day, believe me.. I had a cheat day! lol.. and then I would slowly creep back to my old ways.. actually not all that slow either. Now when I have a cheat day, I am so surprised how I still look at everything and make better cheat choices. If that makes sense. I stop around 7pm. It definitely takes getting use to, and a whole lot of tweeking it seems to see what works for me.. I am still trying to figure it out, I am a month out and it gets easier and easier... I am on My fitness pal and I add everything in, when I see I am very low, I have to try to add food to eat to get more calories.. not sure if I should be doing this, but I don't want my calorie intake to be so low. Seeing a nutritionist this week and WEDS I get my very first fill .. I have no liquid in my band at the time of surgery, so I am excited about this.. and a bit nervous. Everywhere here is such a family/ community and I love readinig posts.. so much encouragement and inspiration. Good luck to all you new banders and the banders who have been on this journey.. it may be tough at times but all so worth it!
