Exactly .. it is just money.. sometimes we all have to make sacrifices. This is not selfish in any way shape or form. Pre op.. I had all KINDS of mixed emotions.. crying.. happy.. anxious.. nervous.. you name it. After all was said and done, and I went through with it, It was the BEST decision I could have made for myself and my loved ones. They much rather have you around much longer than an IPAD or something superficial. I haven't felt this great in sooo long! Trust us.. and yourself.. you will not regret this. **hugs**!

Hiyas and welcome Smiles! I was freaked out by some posts also! I was prepared to go through some post op pain after surgery, luckily it wasn't half as bad as I thought it was going to be. I was on liquids 7days before surgery and 2-3 weeks after.. I was so sick of liquids it wasn't even funny. But that is pretty much the worse of it.. we all go through it.. No Pain.. No Gain.. right? lol.. nothing is ever.. "easy" but .. after doing all this, and having the right foods in my fridge.. something clicked after getting banded.. I didn't crave the other things much anymore. I did here and there but then I grabbed something good and munched.. it helps a lot. as far as the getting stuck, I haven't expierenced that and I hope not to. But from what My dr tells me and other's on here, eat slow and chew chew chew! and you should be fine. But there will be things some people cannot tolerate. Anyway.. good luck to ya!! it is so exciting to know.. you are taking your life back !

I was having a hard time with the thought of pureeding food in a blender.. also said as long as I can mush it with a fork.. was fine also.

how do you feel with the 6cc? -
Thanks for sharing.. I think that would be one of my hardest things to grasps once I am at restriction or the spot I should be at. I eat when watching t.v.. on the comp.. etc. need to pay attention more! I don't want to go through that.

I researched all as well. I was up in the air with the sleeve and band also, but I choose the band because it is less evasive and if I start to feel hungry, pouch stretched etc, I can go in for a fill and be back on track with the hunger etc.. the sleeve, well like the bypass, after a few years you can re-stretch your pouch and be back to the way you were pre surgery. Has happened to a couple of friends I know, 1 with the bypass and 1 with the sleeve. I like the fact that I have something that is irreversible if I need it to be, and something that can help me for a lifetime.

Gained weight almost 4 years banded
destynee1 replied to positiveone's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Read that link she provided.. it explains everything.. I to thought the band was suppose to :"restrict" and was disappointed when when she told me about that link.. I clicked it.. huffin and puffin.. and I read the whole thing, with an open mind.. trying to stay positive. After reading it, it became clear and I now know how to work with my band. I have no restriction, none. But I have made the right choices.. ( most of the time ) and changing my life to become healthy and feeling great. There is no miracle cure out there ladies.. not the bypass, the sleeve , the band. They are all tools. It is suppose to "help" you not do all the work... open your mind, and think about how great you felt when you lost that weight.. you can do it !! -

The # 1 Lesson I Learned from my Band
destynee1 replied to FLORIDAYS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just sneezed so hard right now it caused 1 step on me pedometer lol.. anyway.. hehe Inspiring post as always.. ! love it. I totally get what you mean about life not revolving around food and everyting you mention, pot lucks.. always wondered.. oooOooo.. what are they bringing.. mmmmmm! now it just is what it is. My head isn't in that exact place still, but it's pretty close.. everyday I notice something better. Even when I have cravings.. ( I still do >< ) they don't last as long as before, I use to always give in to my cravings.. diet or not. Not anymore! -
