    February sleevers

Cebbert... go towards the front of this post and look for the 2 people who are the admins for the FB page. You need to send one of them a private message through here with your FB name and description of your profile pic just so they will have the right person. We are trying to be sure we add the right people as we won't it to be a small group of just Feb people.

  7. I am newly sleeved and I know i'm swollen,etc.. but how do you know when you've had too much or put too much in your pouch either with liquids or when you eat foods? I'm only doing liquids in 2 oz now and a time or too I got a heavy chest feeling so I stopped thinking that may be what I need to pay attention to. I don't want to get sick.... I was so sick with when I had the band that I was miserable! Thanks for any help.
  8. I am very sorry to hear you are having issues. I've been there. I was banded in Oct 2012, had revision from a slip after getting very sick with a stomach bug June 2013... did ok for a few months then my band failed and I had it removed Nov 2013. I had Gastic Sleeve just this past Monday (the 16th) and I feel great. I did have to spend 1 night in the hospital which I didn't with the band but I was thankful for the constant pain meds and nausea meds in my iv and attention I got. I came home about 3:30 on Tuesday and only had nausea that night. Haven't had to take pain or nausea meds since Tuesday night. Stomach sore like with the band just getting from sitting to standing position. Taking that 1st shower was heaven and I felt so much better too. Just been sipping on Clear liquids and Protein drinks every 30 mins or so. I can tell that I can't hold much for sure and yesterday I got to see my new itty-bitty banana shaped stomach! My doctor does a Barium Swallow to check for leaks and reflux on day 3 so it was neat to see that after 5 sips my stomach was full... I had to wait a few hours to add Water to that since the barium was so thick. Good luck in your decision but I can say, I'm not regretful for sleeving at all!!!

    Feb 16th- Surgery Day!

I'm doing great but just today felt awake enough to post. I stayed 1 night in hospital and discharged about 3:39 on the 17th. Felt good to be in my bed. Sipping on water, protein shakes. I'm having a hard time knowing if I'm hungry or if my stomach rumbles are nausea. My doc does a barium swallow test 2 days post op to make sure all this flowing correctly...they were and I got to see my itty-bitty stomach get full after 5 sips of barium! It really looks like a banana. Feeling stronger day by day! How are others?

They did my EGD day of surgery while I was under. It's just part of their routine here.

    2 Week Pre-Op Liquid Diet

Hang in there....it gets better! Day 3-4 are hard. I've been 2 weeks liquid and after the 4th day, I wasn't that hungry and being around food didn't bother me. I'm down 19 lbs in 2 weeks and surgery in the am! When I was hungry, flavor watered helped and I took a PPI everyday that helped. (Read that advice on another post).

    Feb 16th- Surgery Day!

I'm report to hospital at 6am in the morning too! I'm nervous and super excited. I had lapband in 2012 but it failed and I had it out in 2013...gained all my weight back so here I am, getting the sleeve! Preop for me had been liquid diet only for 2 weeks and I've lost 19 lbs. day 3-4 was rough but after that's it's been ok. I'm thankful for these 2 weeks going into tomorrow as post op won't be much different for me. A good friend had this procedure and had no restrictions of food other than NOI midnight of surgery so waking up and only getting liquids was rough for her and she had major headaches and caffeine withdrawal. Glad to have found some others who will be on same timeline with me...hope we can stay in touch. Good luck to everyone and prayers for all! Hope to post from my couch on Tuesday!

    Plication In Dec

I can't answer all of that just yet as I was just Plicated 2 days ago. I had a lap band (10/24/12) and after a year and 2 revisions later it failed so I had it removed and my doctor did the Plication. I feel good. No nausea or heartburn so far. My stomach feels like it's been used as punching bag (it's sore) but I'm able to drink liquids, broth, popsicles etc... I see here there are not alot of us on the Gastic Plication board... Hope to keep up with you and best of luck!
