Has anyone experianced a Plateau in there Weight Loss? I go in for my first fill this Monday (4/30) I'm down 39lbs. but I've now been stuck at the same weight for about a week and a half. Not gaining weight, but just the same everyday. Could this be because I just need a fill? Thanks All, Rocko~~

Pardon the strong language, but since I suffer from this illness from time to time I just thought I should share. Go get yourselves vaccinated…wouldn’t want you hard working folks to become affected!!! I called my boss this morning and told him that I am staying home because I am not feeling well. "What's the matter?" he asked. "I have a case of anal glaucoma," I said in a weak voice. "What the hell is anal glaucoma?" "I can't see my ass coming into work today." :clap2::faint::clap2:

Yesterday when released from the Hospital, I was given a Script for "Pre-natal Vitamins" (chewable) So my Son dropped off the Script for me, then called me and said, they had to order them, and they would have them in the Morning, no problem. So I call CVS this Morning, asked if they had my Script, "yes we do you can come anytime to pick it up" Great. So I go pick it up, come home open it, and Chew away...Holy Mother of God!!! They gave me the Wrong Ones!!! Not the Chewables...Do you have any idea what these things taste like? Well let me tell you, they taste like Old Rotten Dead Fish...So now I have this taste in my mouth, nose, every time I Burp, there it is!!! Well I wasn't Puking to bad before this, but I'm Puking at a pretty good clip now. And the taste isn't going away! Probably some intern at CVS filled it. I called and just Snapped on the Pharmacist. I mean he was very apologetic, but the fact remains the same, I got the Wrong S!#T, and my Breath smells like a Bag of Old Fish Scales!!!

Upside! I went in for my 2 week Post-op checkup on Monday (4/9) I'm down a Total of 36lbs! And I'm actually starting to see a Physical difference. Downside! Some of you may remember I had mentioned that I had a Hearing Loss? Well to refresh your memory. The day after Surgery I was discharged from the Hospital (wed. 3/28/07) I came home and pretty much slept all day. When I woke up Wed. Nite I couldn't Hear out of my Left Ear. Didn't really give it a second thought until I woke up Thursday Morning and still couldn't Hear. I tried popping my Ears, no luck thou. So Friday I went to my Doc. He gave me some Anti-biotics (Keflex) saying it was a Ear Infection. By Sunday I still had no change. So I have a Doctor whom I'm friends with, she told me to come in and she'd take a look at me. Went in, said she didn't see an Infection, so she took me off the Keflex, and started me on Prednisone (Steroid) Well being a Diabetic and having problems in the past, I decided not to delay and Monday (4/2) I went to a Ears, Nose, and Throat Specialist. They did a complete exam. I have lost 95% of my Hearing in my Left Ear. So he kept me on the Prednisone, and wanted to see me back that Friday (4/6) for another Hearing Test, and if there was no improvement they would do this Surgery called a "Microwick" you can go to this link and see what it is: http://www.micromedics-usa.com/products/otology/microwick.htm I am being told that it's a Nerve Problem! So I went back on Friday and there was no improvement, so the Surgery was done. I'm now putting the Prednisone directly into my Ear 3 times a day, still with no improvement. And the Biggest Kicker is, no one knows what caused this!!! I went to bed, and woke up Deaf in my Left Ear!!! The first week or so was driving me absolutely Insane! But I think I'm starting to adjust to not hearing now. I have to return on April 20th for my follow-up. I think if there's still no improvement they will order a Cat-scan. I guess the good thing is, the Place where I'm having everything done, is the same place that Developed the "Microwick" in 1999 "The Silverstein Institute" here in Sarasota, Fl. So that's the reason I really haven't been around lately. I appreciate your email's asking where I've been! I'm just very, very frustrated as you can imagine. All the Medical people I speak with say they've never heard of anybody going to sleep and waking up Deaf. Well hear I am!!! I've also checked with my Surgeon and asked him if this was do to Surgery in anyway? He said no. So now I just sit and wait... Best Regards, Rocko~~

I'm probably getting around 600-700 Calories a day, starting yesterday. I'm down 30lbs from 3/12/07 That's with about 30min or so of exercise everyday. I'm pretty pleased so far, just wish this was available 10yrs ago! Rocko~`

Wow!!! I had Surgery a week ago today, and I'm on Straight Clear Liquids for 2 Weeks, then Full Liquids for 2 Weeks, then Mushies for 1 Week! I'm jealous you get to have applesauce, Maltomeal, your Doc isn't as strick as mine. But I really haven't found myself Starving yet. I was going to try Creamy Soups to, but have you looked at how much Sodium is that stuff?! Even in broth is outragous! Hi All, Well I just got home from my Pre-Op meeting with my Surgeon. All went smooth as Silk~~ Being on the opti-fast Diet for 9 days as of today, I dropped.....15.2lbs!!! I went from 341.8 to 326.6 To tell you the truth I really can't see any change. My friend said he can see it in my face. Well the Doctor was thrilled. So I celebrated and had a sugar free Jello Pudding!!! I know what your saying "That Rocko is a Madman!" I did bring some questions with me. Here are the Q's I asked, some may be silly but I just wanted to know. 1) Are you going to use a Catheter? No (thank you God)! 2) How many incisions? 5 3) How many Stitches? They will be placed inside. (4-5) 4) I asked how come they didn't take any Fat out while they where inside, the reason I asked was because I Watched the Surgery on-line (if you want the link let me know) and your able to see a lot of Fat just there. Ans: He said there was no benefit. 5) I asked if he ever had a Mortality while doing the Lab-Band? No, he said he's never had anyone Die while he's done any Surgeries. (I guess that goes in the Plus Column) 6) Will my Band offer any restriction Post Surgery seeing is that I don't get a fill for 4-6 weeks? He said Yes, I asked how? He said, because there will be swelling around where the Band is placed just from Surgery. (irritating the area) 7) Will my taste buds change? He said he's heard that, but it will depend on the individual. . 8) Will I have Heartburn? He said, i shouldn't. (very few people do) 9) What Pain Meds will I get? He said the Good Stuff! (lol) 10) Will you use the Pars Flaccida Technique? It's starting to go very well. I've dropped 10lbs since Surgery, and a total of 29lbs from my pre-op diet (3/13) But it's still hard for me to see a differece yet. My Mom said she see's a difference, but she doesn't count...She's Mom!

Hi all, Ok so I'm 4 days Post-Op. I am almost 100% healed up, I mean the scabs over the incisions are already falling off. I have absolutely no appetite at all I mean "Zero" I don't even think I coming near 200 Calories a day, if that. I don't feel weak, I feel normal as always. I still can't seem to keep much liquid's down, nothing painful, but I Burp and up it comes. I was told I was breathing in to much Air, so I've been very careful with that, makes no difference, it still comes up. I can go more than 2 hours without any sort of liquid and start developing the "Foamies" as I guess there called? The weight seems to be Melting off, as far as the scale keeps telling me, I still can't really see anything! I was Weighed in the day before my 2 week Opti-fast Diet (3/12) at my Surgeons office at 341lbs. The day of Surgery (3/27) 322lbs Today's Weight 313lbs. Since the day of Surgery I'm dropping Approx. 3lbs a day, but like I said I'm hardly hitting 200 Calories a day. So is this Normal? Is there any reason to call the Doctor Monday Morning? I mean I feel good, healing up great. I'm trying to just take very little sips when I do drink, but then...Foamies! I'm out and about everyday doing my normal things, no problem. I am taking my Vitamins, and my Meds, they seem to stay down with no problem. So do I have a problem? Or not? I also found out why my Ear was Plugged up, went to my PCP and he put me on a liquid Antibiotic (Keflex) He said my Middle Ear Drum had an Infection. I'm having no pain, started on the Antibiotics yesterday morning, but still can't hear anything, my left Ear is still Plugged shut. Which is just annoying as hell... Hello All...I'm back Home. My Surgery (Lap-Band) went perfect. It was at 3:30pm yesterday. I was released from the Hospital at 12:00pm today. The only problem's I had were 1) Coming out of Surgery when the Anesthesia was wearing off, I guess I was pretty rowdy, I'm told I took a few Big swings at the Post Op Nurses (they were guys) I was complaining of Bad Pain, and was demanding some Ice! Then I guess it was when they tried to put the Oxygen Mask on me, I started playing Rocky! I then was given a Big Dose of Demerol and settleled down. I have no recalection of any of that. 2) When I came to in my room I had a Major Headache, I mean a {{{Throbber}}} I was given some Tylenol w/ Codene. And it was lights out for about 5 hrs. I slept on and off through the night, they did get me up once to walk, and every hour they were taking my Vital Signs. I had absolutely No Gas Pains what so ever, I feel like a Guy that owed his Bookie some money and he sent "Big Tony" to give me a Tune-up in my Stomach. I just feel like someone punched me in the Stomach for about 5 minutes straight. I woke up at 6:00am and went for a 10 min walk up and down the Hallway. Around 7ish Breakfast came, I got the Sampler Platter I guess, broth, Jello, Popsicle, and juice. I ate the Popsicle and had a couple teaspoons of the Broth. Wasn't very hungry at all. I had a 11:00am meeting with my Surgeon going over everything I have to do. 2 weeks Clear liquid, 1 week regular liquid, then mushies. I also had my 1st Burp with some liquid coming back up, I wouldn't say I threw up tho. That just happened while writing this email. I'm still feeling pretty grogie now, so I'm going to try to sleep for a little while. I just wanted to let you all know how it went. It's kinda weird, but it's like you all where there with me, can't explain it?! Maybe it was the Drugs?! (lol) Thank you all for your thoughts and Prayers. Rocko~~

:help: Can you all shed some light on how long Post Surgery my stay will be in the Hospital? I was under the impression I would maybe be able to go Home that day? Am I dreaming here? And maybe a few of you would be able to tell me what I can expect as far as {{{Pain}}} goes? And what the Doctor usually gives you for pain, if any? Thanks Rocko~~
