What was the first habit you changed?

My first habit I've changed is drinking while I'm eating - which has been very difficult since I have a method (Bite, bite, drink) and I've had to break it. I always wash it down with Water. The habit I'm having the most difficulty with is chewing more, and eating slowly. I'm worried it'll be a habit that will stand in the way once I get the lapband.

    So down!

Changing companies might be a blessing in disguise, maybe you can change PCP's also! I've heard of people needing to gain weight since their bmi was under, do what you need to do if you KNOW this is what you want. Be patient and trust God for the best!

  19. 2 out of 6 visits with my surgeon, 4 more to go! Hoping to get banded in Sept!

  20. Okay - shall do then! I've heard two different stories, yours, Spaness2012, and someone else who said when their nutritionist submitted the paper work they had lost 10 lbs and was denied because they didn't have a bmi of 40 or higher at that point. So I'll definitely be talking with my Surgeon about it, since I believe he submits the referral.
  21. I have a goal to get into the 250's BEFORE the surgery (Possibly set in Sept/Oct). I'd like to lose more, of course, but I'm unsure how much I can lose before I put in the referal for the surgery it's self and still be approved. I will be checking with my Surgeon on my next visit as I have to do 6 months of check ins before my surgery will approve it. I'm just curious what everyone's time frames were between deciding to be banded and getting banded, and combined with how much weight they lost pre-surgery?
  22. I'm having to do 6 months supervised and they told me I just couldn't gain weight.

    Tricare becoming United

Hey all! Does anyone happen to work or be well knowledgable in the change over? I received my approval to see the Surgeon and attend the seminiar. But in April Tricare changed to United. I was informed over the phone that as of February Triwest/tricare required 6 months of documentation with the Surgeon - that meant all who were priorly required to see a nutritionist had to start their 6 months over. We are Air Guard, so we only have the insurance for as long as my husband is activated (October will be his end date). Does anyone know how things will change? Will I have to start over? And will they require the 6 months to start over too? I was approved before and my insurance timed out. I've been praying so hard, my heart hurts at the thought that it's going to happen again.
