Anytime I try to watch what I'm eating it seems like everyone wants to invite me out to eat. It's killer! And tv commercials about food too. Bah! -

Lots of Problems (so close to goal weight!)
TheDuchess replied to KristineNote's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I believe you have to maintain a specific weight for up to 2 years before your body will recognize it as it's new "survivial weight" - which means until then your body is fighting to get back up to size because it truly believes you are killing it. Be consistant! And take pride in that awesome amount you've managed to lose :] -
I'm curious how you've been handeling it? I'm wanting to ask my doctor to put in some fluid during the surgery.

Last day to eat gone wrong
TheDuchess replied to EJRN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That whomps! Though perhaps it's all for a good reason! Who knows if something would have been wrong without the extra day of liquid and they would have delayed the operation, or you would have gotten food poisioning, etc. Think positive my sweet! -
Why am I now second guessing myself?
TheDuchess replied to bsellis's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm curious - in the past when you were trying to keep the weight off - what kind of support did you have? Support is such a huge part of keeping it off, making sure your friends are aware of the support you need, and start now with finding foods of small portions that will keep you satisfied. (I've become a tuna freak this month haha). I've also found that the drinking rule helps SOOO Much! And I'm still pre-op. Do not drink beverages for 30 to 45 minutes before or after meals. - such a good rule! It was a difficult one though, I really love to wash my food down, but then I'm insanely hungry hours later. Now I'm able to feel satisfied longer. I also joined tumblr and made a blog about my fitness and health and I reblog and follow others who are on the same path I am, that way even visually I'm inspired by healthy foods, etc. Set yourself up for success lady! ;] -

When Can I Start Jogging?
TheDuchess replied to hockeymother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do it with a friend - no matter what type of exercise you do :] Mall walking is a fun one though! Aka speed window shopping haha! That's how I got prepared to walk around Disneyworld. -
I get bad cramps during my periods - are you allowed to take anything for it right after being banded? ? :/

No zumba for 6 weeks?! I dont know how I'm going to survive! -
What the topic says! Did you go off of a pant / dress size? A specific weight or BMI? Or an ability goal point? (to get off of meds / walk up stairs without breathing heavy / shop at a certain store) Did some of us not have a goal in mind at all, just to lose weight and do what we can? I'm just curious how others came to their decision on goal setting...

Hey all I've heard that some people were given fills during their surgery, and I had considered talking to my surgeon about it as my insurance only covers everything until a certain date (hoping to be banded in Sept, date ends in october). I'm curious to those whove had the fill with the surgey if they felt that the healing process after was more difficult than those who had their fills at a later date? Anyone can chime in on this - including people who had fills later - would you have opted to have the first fill done during the surgery?
