That's cool, what hospital did you have your band put in? I was done at Pierre Boucher on the south shore. Hope all is going well for you!

Was banded just over 3 weeks ago and went back to work today ( not easy as I have a very physical job). I was taking celebrex for all the pain in feet knees ect... My nurse said that the doctor MAY not want me to continue using the celebrex, and I won't until I talk to him,but I was curious if any bandsters use this med after their surgery?

It was only a few days ago that I asked the question, what is a pb,well today I found out. Rather strange though, because it happened when I drank some milk too fast. I was banded on October 11 and was told that there was no fill at the time of surgery, so is it normal to have this happen with no fill? Strange feeling when it happened and I'm only glad I was next to my sink, anyways good lesson to drink slowly and certainly EAT slowly!

Port Pain Question
andrew2780 replied to Deevee0927's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too was fine the first couple of days after the surgery (banded on october 11),but started having terrible pain around the port area. It hurt with every deep breath and would travel up to my shoulders. There was a period of a couple of days were I couldn't bend over to put on my socks because it hurt too much. Good news is that it only lasted a few days and glory be I was able to sneeze yesterday without pain. Hang in there it will get better, although I didn't think that a couple of days ago. -
Keep reading this and have no idea what people are referring to.

Was just banded two weeks ago,and I'm a little concerned about what my nurse told me a couple of days ago! When I asked her how much fill I would receive at my first appointment, she said that I may in fact not get a fill depending on how my weight lose is going. When I mentioned my surprise at this, she said that it has happened on a few occasions that men sometimes get enough restriction just by being banned in the first place. Does this sound at all logical to anyone. By the way they put a 14cc band in me, and if I'm not mistaken that is the largest one.

That's cool, when were you banded? I have family out in Ottawa.I was just done last week and things seem to be going ok.

HI everyone, well I was banded on October 11th and apart from some gas pains,I would say that all has been ok until this morning. Now when I bend forwards, there is a sharp burning pain around my filling port. Is it just things healing on the inside and moving stretches things or should I get in touch with nurses to further look into this? Thanks to everyone who takes the time to answer a newbees worried fears.

Am I the only one out there from Montreal?

I would definitely go to your follow up. If you've done all you're supposed to why would you be ashamed? I have read that the band can sometimes slip and move, if that's the case for you maybe it's not as high up as it should be and so not as restrictive as it could? I don't know, but just a thought.... -
Was fine for the first couple of days, but the gas pains seem to be getting the better of me. At least I think it's gas, pain seems to start right around where my port is and travels up to my left shoulder. Pain feels like someone is in there with a knife just twisting it around, anybody else think this is gas,or am I just going nuts! By the way I was banded on October 11, so these odd pains are new to me.

Had my bad put on October 11, I'm able to drink nag using Boost nag clear broths, pro tens shakes, etc, but I burp ALOT. Anyone else? Not nausea at all....

Banded yesterday and having the same feeling ! Comes in waves, and I think it might be from gas, walking actually helps!

In Need Of A Buddy, No Support At Home

I am getting banded and I'm just wondering if life continues after.I don't mind eating less at every meal but I'm worried that it sounds as though I'll be drinking smoothies for the rest of my life and no longer eating anything solid.what type of foods can be enjoyed after the band ( of course in moderation).
