  1. So I have been at 8cc for a few weeks and every so often I have a mucus {Ewww! I know lol} build up and can't eat or drink anything thick, including protein shakes. Does anybody else have this problem?! I don't want to get any liquid taken out because I'm good most days. Anybody have any other suggestions? Thank You!!

    Sometimes it goes down but usually it will come back up, even up to 5 minutes later.

    Thank You! The stores were crazy and I didn't want to buy Protein shakes because the senior citizens might need them more. I have a few left but I ate super small bites and was able to eat dinner. I will chop food and use the manual one if the power goes out. I'll be back on after the storm!

  8. Hi everyone! I had my band placed January 19,2012. Since then I have only lost 50 pounds. I had my first fill at 5cc, a second at 7cc, a third at 8cc then had it taken out to 7.5 because of issues. Yesterday I went back up to 8cc to give it another try. I lost the entire 50 pounds by May and haven't really lost since then. I exercise but not enough so now I bike ride or walk 2x or more a week. I hope this helps. Long story short, I kind of feel like a failure for only losing 50 lbs when my goal is 100lbs. Any suggestions?! Thanks fellow Lap Bandits! (You know you laughed at the bandits!! Haha.).

    Feeling Like A Failure

    I measure my food out from 1/2 cup to 1 cup, 1 cup being a really long day. My degree is in teaching but I actually just started working as a social worker and am on the road a lot. I bring Protein shakes with me and eat salad literally everyday for lunch along with measuring out the dressing. I add 10 croutons and 4 small pieces of feta cheese. This is about 10 points on weight watchers. Although I do not really follow WW, I use the old books to cut out high fat foods. For Breakfast, I usually have 1/4 cup dry Cereal with coffee, no sugar added but the creamer does have sugar in it. dinner is usually a meat (if it stays down!) and/or veggies and sugar free drinks. I am trying to stop drinking while eating so the food stays in my stomach longer! My cheat is definitely chocolate so I bought hershey kisses and if I really can't beat the craving, I let 2 melt in my mouth. (Sometimes I do have 4 though!)
  10. I am a teacher and I had my surgery on a Wednesday and went back to work that Monday. I also did not use any pain killer post surgery from the first dosage when I woke up. I have a high pain tolerance though! Really though, my surgeon told me two weeks but I felt good! I also moved into a new house the weekend of surgery because the landlord wouldn't let me move in the week before and I couldn't do the week after so the most I lifted was like 10 pounds. You know you body best so make the decision that is right for you!
  11. My first fill was 5! It worked for me and I lost 35 pounds. My second fill was 7 and I lost another 15. That was April 2012. I got 8 put in an then went down to 7.5 because I was having trouble eating anything. Yesterday I went back to 8cc and I hope it works for another 50! (And with exercise!!)
