  4. Hi - to my knowledge, I've never gotten anything stuck so in wondering what it feels like. Every now & then, when I take a deep breath I get a pain around my band area. Is that being stuck?? I've never vomited or PB'd. I had my WLS on 9/11 and have had two fills (5 cc total in 11 cc band). Thx for any help!!

    Thx everyone. I had a piece of cheese on a cracker... Perhaps I didn't chew it as well as I should have! Good feedback on the stuck issue - kinda like "what does a contraction feel like"! You'll know!

  11. My first fill only hurt when the PA pushes around to find the port. I was 5 wks post op and it hurt for a few days... Not the needle though, just the pushing around. I go again tomorrow for my 2nd fill! Was supposed to be last Monday but Hurricane Sandy changed that! Good luck.

  13. Boy is it easy to slip back into old habits! Have been tracking in MFP and see that red line of over my calories 6/7 days this week. My weak spots pre-wls didn't magically go away post. The good news, I see it and will fix it! I've had one fill already & have 5cc's (2.5 to prune, 2.4 real fill).

    Alcohol

    Crystal light actually makes margarita flavor drink. You could make that & add the tequila! Jose Cuervo also makes a light, alcohol included, margarita mix. It's Delish! I haven't had it post wls but it was a staple pre- wls. Have fun! Remember to drink lots of Water & stay away from the Scooby snacks!
  15. Hi all - need some advice. I am having my first fill tomorrow at 7 am. The next night I have a client dinner for work. 1). Am I crazy to try to go? 2). Any suggestions for what I should have? It's at an ilalian restaurant I was thinking minestrone Soup. Thx!

    Thx. Meant to say my nutritionist's notes said I would be on liquids for 2 days. I will be sure to ck w/ the dr's office when I get the fill. If liquid, will do broth (in minestrone) or other soup. If mushies, will talk to the mgr as he used to work for me so I'm sure he'd be fine pureeing something for me.
  17. Congrats on your wls! I was banded on 9/11 and did not experience that. I'm curious why your dr isn't having you drink the Isopure clear liquid Protein the first week. Sometimes you can get loose bowels if you ingest too much fake sugar - I can't think of the name of it but it doesn't seem like your having that - although maybe the crystal light? I would check with your doctor. You don't want to get dehydrated. Good luck!

    Cardio Vs Weigth Training

    A great weight training / cardio workout is Kettle Bells - it's an Iron ball with a handle & you do swings and all sorts of other exercises. You can get tone and strong. Also, don't underestimate the benefit of push-ups (modified as necessary), lunges, squats, etc - your own body weight provides great resistance for you to build / tone muscle. Muscle takes up less space than fat and continues to burn fat long after you've worked out! Best of luck. Ha - I gotta listen to my own advice!!
  20. Hi all - I recently started using myfitnesspal and notice that it says I only get 25 grams of sugar per day. Does that make sense? Seems super low.
