So I'm 12 days post op...all seems to be healing well I have now noticed last night when lying down that in the area of my largest incision I fell like a weird lump that is about 2 inches long directly under it it's like a bar that's how it feels...does that make sense? Still the only spot I'm really sore and now I'm scared that something's wrong! Like terrified!! Anyone notice this before? Wed will be 2 weeks post op.

Today is Thanksgiving in Canada and I am thankful for this forum!!! It's so nice to hear from people going through the same thing to put my mind at ease!! Thanks everyone I feel better now:)

Really?? Ok I thought my port would be more off to the side but my largest incision is more to the front of my stomach it feels like its just below the surface of my skin my husband figures I feel it more because the swelling has gone down. Thanks I hope u guys are right. I am going to call the doc tomorrow morning to make sure.

Anyone ever had this happen? I'm 8 days post op I have slowly been removing my steri strips as they loosen and I have a lot of itching I think I'm having a reaction to the glue on the strips. Anyways I took one of a smaller incision today the incision is healed really well looks good as I removed the steri strip a huge water blister formed its about a finger width below the incision and really full of fluid. I covered it with a bandaid and didn't pop it but has anyone else had this happen?

So yup I went to my family doc I'm allergic to the glue on the steri strips!! Which totally sucks now on top of healing from the incisions I have to heal up from all these stupid water blisters ugh!!!

It's definitely tempting to pop it lol but I didn't I just covered it with a bandaid.

Thanks everyone!! Glad to hear I'm not the only one. I was supposed to have a chk up appt with my family doc 2weeks post op which was supposed to be next wed but I called and now she wants to see me tomorrow:)

I was 1wk fluid 1week puréed 1week soft food I'm on day 2 of puréed!!

Sleeping on ur back and side wtf t u kidding me!!! I'm a week post op as well a week today I'm down 9 pounds since surgery day an I'm very pleased with that but there is no way in hell I could sleep on my side never mind my stomach!! I have tried and it I still so painful!! I'm envious of u lol!! I thought I was healing well but I'm still in so much pain, going from sitting to standing, walking getting in and out of the car...bending over if something falls on the floor is impossible lol I'm very bruised in the area of the largest incision and I feel a lot of pain on the left which I'm assuming is where the port is...I just want the pain part over!!! I went back to work after 5 days and its damn near killed me...one thing is I'm so glad the gas pains are gone!!!!

What?!?! R u kidding me a week out and u r sleeping on ur belly and side?! Wtf I must be doing something wrong:( I'm a week out today!! 9 pounds down from surgery date which I am pleased with but there is no way I could sleep on my tummy or side I have tried and its still so painful!! I have a lot of bad bruising in the biggest incision area...I'm still in quite a bit of pain:( just started my first day of puréed foods which I'm happy about,nice to be off liquids!! But now I'm concerned is it normal to b in so much pain this far in? I no longer have gas pains which is a relief because they were hell and all of the pain was in my right shoulder as well!! But it hurts me getting in and out of a car... Going from sitting to standing, I can not bend over to pick something off the floor impossible right now. I thought I was healing well but I'm just in pain still...

Omg my incisions are so itchy it's killing me!!!!! Argh!! I know it's a sign of healing but I want to scratch so bad!!!

I was banded wed I took the big bandages off yesterday that would have been Sunday probably could have sooner but I didn't like looking at the incisions and bruising!! I was told to leave the steri strips in place for 7-10 days then remove them. U don't want to take them off to early they are what hold the incisions closed and if the incisions aren't ready they could split open leaving a much bigger scar then anticipated. So use caution when removing them and don't rush it!! Good luck:)

I'm much better today is Sunday evening last night was the first time I was able to sleep laying down which was nice. I find I still have a lot of pain when walking in my stomach but I just take its slow. The gas pains are gone thank god!!! And yesterday was my last day I took the codeine so that's a good thing!! All in all I think everyday gets better so hang in there and walk that really helps the gas also I found a heating pad was a life saver for me!! I just got back home after being away for a week to have my surgery so after 2 long days of traveling I work tomorrow we will see how that goes:)

Wow great ideas sounds like ur really getting the hang of this!! I'm just 4 days post op still on liquids I can't wait to be on soft food lol!! Try keeping sugar free jello and pudding for night time snacking then at least it's lil or no calories!! And u can get chocolate and so many yummy flavors!!! That's my tip...

I was banded on Wed came out of the anesthetic well had a lot of gas pain the first couple days I slept in a sitting position for the first couple days because laying down flat was to uncomfortable last night was the first time I slept laying down and I slept well ...now I just can't wait to sleep on my side again I'm still not ready for that... Congrats everyone!!! What an exciting journey we r all on!!!!

I guess I'm not the best for advice on this topic im not on any meds at all...all I can say is I crushed my Tylenol 3 days post op to be on the safe side I'm terrified of getting anything stuck!!! Sounds like something different works for everyone!!

I was only banded 3 days ago I wouldn't dream of taking a whole pill yet...

Try crushing them and putting them in a teaspoon of liquid honey.. I had to crush a Tylenol because I had a pounding headache and no liquid and I crushed it into a teaspoon of juice then took a drink after it did taste terrible if I had honey I think it would have been better!! Good luck!!

I'm 3 days post op I found the chewable gas x was better then the strips. By day 3 the gas gets better and u will start burping more...I couldn't pass any gas the first two days!! Just paced my hotel room and used the heating pad which I really found helped the shoulder pains!!

I can't wait for that!!! When people start to notice!! Good job:)

Katpowell92 I was just banded two days ago I can't wait to be a month in!! U make me feel hopefull!! I know it's got to get better lol I just can't wait for the pain and bloating and gas to go away!!!

How long post op are u?

I thought I saw u there...I was coming out of my consult with the anesthieologist as u were going in I think...u must have had ur surgery after I had mine I was Dr.Mitchells second last pt and I saw Dr woo coming in while I was in recovery getting ready to go. How are u feeling???? I think I'm doing well each day is a lil easier...we r heading home tomorrow back to Edmonton, Alberta.
