I am 58 years old and weigh 365 lbs, I am a mother, grandmother, wife and great friend, and I am a professional. I have dreams and expectation as if I were 20 years old. But I am realistic and I do know it will not happen if this weight stays on me.
I started working when I was 11 years old. I remember it well because even then I was overweight and because I looked much older I was able to obtain a summer job. During my school years I remember always saying to myself you are smart, beautiful so this weight is just another obstacle that you will overcome. Little did I know it would be a lifelong battle? The question is why? Why can’t I control this one element of my life? I begin to think it must be a missing link here? What’s different this time, I have great wisdom and knowledge to really understand if I continue to do what I have always done I will get the same result. And die earlier than I would have if my weight was under control. So based on these facts, I dare to dream and make a lasting decision for the second half of my life. So it is here my true journey begins!
