    Just Banded

I'm sorry you're having trouble. I think we have to remember its only day 4 ! I know it's hard to see the bigger picture when you're not feeling well, but it will get better. My band is spasming so bad I've called the Dr twice ! I've heard of a lot of post op discomforts, but not this one during my research..... it hurts like hell !! They finally called me in a stronger nausea med because the spasms are making me heave, so I'm gonna trust them and be hopeful. Keep your head up I BELIEVE it WILL get better for all of us

Day 3 not so awesome. I've had nausea for the first time today and a horrible pressure in my sternum. Like I can feel the band restricting or spasm, not fun
  5. Everyone is just trying to save you from yourself. I questioned whether or not to have the surgery for the 50-60 lbs I need to lose, I'm 3 days post op and I couldn't imagine putting myself through this for 25lbs. Do what ya want and good luck !

    Just Banded

I don't have much shoulder or back pain, but I feel a lot of pressure in my sternum area. I had the plication and hernia repair, so I'm hoping it's just gas. Anyone else feel pressure in that area ?
  7. I feel a lot of pressure at the top of my stomach right below the breast bone. It feels like a constricting feeling and I can feel it even if I take a deep breath. Today is the first day I've felt it, is it normal ?

I don't work, but I would think about a week off . For myself, I'm not in a lot of pain, but need to adjust my position quite often and the meds keep me knocked out. It's better to be safe than sorry......don't over do it. Best wishes !!!

Today I'm a little more sore, but no nausea . It's been pretty easy so far. 1 day post op.

I may just be still under the meds a little and I expect tomorrow I may be more sore, but I was thrilled to have come out of anesthesia with out feeling ill and to finally get something to drink I wish for you a speedy recovery !!
  12. I got the "you don't weigh enough" comments also. My BMI is 36 and I only have about 60lbs to lose, but I am choosing the band so that I never get to the point of needing to lose 120lbs. I will be banded with plication in the morning
  13. I am being banded in the morning, anyone else share this date ?

    Good luck to ya !
  15. Has anyone noticed a drop in shoe size since losing weight ? I know it CAN happen, but wondering if it does. I have quite the collection that I LOVE and was prepared to start over with a wardrobe but not my shoes

Getting A Bad Feeling About Approval

You are welcome ! I can guarantee you that the Dr has called to verify coverage before moving forward with your process. The way insurance companies are set up, many claims are examined by a computer and not an actual person as there are never enough actual people to "touch" every claim. If it is a straight forward office visit or a simple type of claim or a non covered service, the computer is set to adjust it and no one ever sees it. Once you receive approval, there is an exception made and noted under your policy # all visits regarding your surgery after that point will be kicked back to an actual person to review. Rest assured there is no one sitting behind a desk deciding whether or not your surgery related visits are covered at this point

Getting A Bad Feeling About Approval

It is very common for any type of weight related visit to NOT be covered, yet the band it's self to qualify. I've been a claims rep for various companies for years and nutritional counseling is most often not covered as any type of diet doctor, diet pills or other plan would also not be. I would call myself and ask if weight loss surgery is covered and I don't think you should be discouraged by the denial . Once surgery is approved the nutritional claim will be reconsidered as part of the lap band approval. Keep your head up and good luck !
