  1. Plain, I was reading your posts on the Thread "Are we ready for a Black President?" and felt I had finally met someone with my political views. I am a disenfranchised Republican who registered Independent because I can't quite see myself as a Democrat and Libertarian was not an option on the form.

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

McCain's choice of running mate is pretty easy to see through.... any Hillary disenfranchised voters out there?!? I have always been a staunch Republican but recently changed to Independent because I can't recognize my party anymore and still can't bring myself to cozy up to Democrats. I feel disenfranchised, period!!!!

Couch to 5K for August...who's in?

Today was modified version of Day 4 of Week 1. I jogged for 70 seconds and walked for 100 seconds. The last jog I jogged for 90 seconds. I think jogging at 5 mph was too fast for me so I slowed it to 4 mph and it made the exercise a lot more doable. After I've finished the 20 minutes of jogging/walking I usually continue to walk on the treadmill until I hit the 2 mile mark which normally takes me a total of 35-40 minutes including the 20 minutes of jogging/walking on c25k. I'm going to try to walk another 2 miles when I get home tonight. I was told by many who lost weight through exercise that walking for 2 miles wasn't doing it for them but once they increased it to 4 to 5 miles a day the weight started to really come off.

    July Butterflies Master Thread

Hey Boos. I had my first fill on 8/19 and it didn't abate my hunger or give me any noticeable restriction (except I can stop at 2 cups of food and be satisfied). I have been told it may take as many as 2 or 3 fills before you start noticing reduction of hunger and restriction after a small amount of food.

  9. I know exactly how you feel, Emily. I haven't lost any weight since 2 weeks post-op even though I've cut back on food and am exercising. I don't get it. Many do say that after the 2nd and usually the 3rd fill, you will start to lose again... one can only hope.

    Ahem...very personal :)

I have been told that guys are never just friends with girls. They're not wired to see girls as just friends.

Any one not have pre-op diet???

I did not have a pre-op diet and do not know if my doctor required it of others.
  18. The psychosis part I can buy into... may be why I feel so psychotic now!!!!

    Raw Oysters

As long as you eat them by themselves on an empty stomach, they should slide right through, I think. They are pretty slimy and pliable.
  20. I love Splenda! Have you noticed how much it is lately? It's almost double the price of other substitute sweeteners. OUCH!!!

    LMAO - Installing A Husband

Well, it does spice it up a bit when a man sneaks into the ladies' room. I'm going to copy and paste that thread to my husband. While he operated more lik boyfriend 5.0 for the first 3 years of our marriage, he has definitely been much more like husband 1.0 for the past 6 years. We just had a converstaion about it this past weekend and I told him I need more and he's been trying (bless him). I've been trying too because I love him and I know he loves me but I think I'm way too much of a drama queen to be in a "contented" marriage. I need passion and romance.

WTG Cerrin. I hope it goes well. Maybe you'll have to start a new thread about your soap opera.
  23. It also says it expands slightly when it enters the stoma so if you do try it, you should try it with caution.

If you change forusm then you're going to have tell us where you took the thread.
  25. People do expect WLS to be miraculous thanks to all the coverage gastric by-pass has received and practically nil on lap band. That's why I always feel like I have to explain why I've only lost 13/14 lbs in 6 weeks. People expect 30 to 50. Sigh... can't please everyone so I'm just giong to try and please myself. BTW, my doctor performs both bypass and lap band. He said he had no interest in pushing people in one direction over the other. Although he said this, I definitely felt he preferred lap band over bypass but I may have just read that into his demeanor because I was determined to have lap band. The bypass scares me way too much. Mortality rate is 1 out of every 50 patients.
