I don't understand these restricted schedules. Everyone is different and reacts differently to fills so they should have the flexibility to get one as needed. Usually you wait 6 weeks after surgery to alllow for healing but after that, it should be according to how your band and pouch is adjusting to the fill. I've been banded 3 months and have already had 4 fills. It turns out I'm pretty sensitive to fills so after the initial fill of 3 cc, I've had .5 cc each successive fill for a total of 4.5 cc in 8 cc band. I was self pay and the first year of follow up care and unlimited fill adjustments were included in the price. But even if it weren't I'd pay to have the number of fills/unfills needed to maximize the band. Why pay so much to have the surgery and go through this process only to have the band working at less than full capacity? It is a tool but like all tools, it needs to be fine tuned for maximum results.

It's OK, SNT. I'm sure I'll still enjoy it. In the big scheme of things, it really is not a big deal. :biggrin:

The reason to quit smoking is to help healing. Smoking severely inhibits oxygen flow and for this reason many surgeons refuse to perform optional surgeries on smokers.

Both my husband and I quit smoking this past January using Chantix. At that time, I wasn't even thinking of having surgery. Chantix works.

Everyone is prejudiced. Everyone believes they are better than someone else. It may not be racial, but the woman who's thin will look at the woman who's fat and think, at least I'm better than that fat cow. The man who drives a Jag looks at the man driving the old clunker and think, I'm better than that bum, and it goes on and on and on.

Plenty of politicians get on the job training and do better than career politicians who've lost touch with the real world. You can't make the argument that Palin is not experienced enough to be VP when you are willing to bet the farm on Obama. He has no more experience than Palin. Remember used car salesmen are very smooth talkers but they're still selling you used goods.

Steve, I don't think Sarah Palin is claiming she's an expert on disabilities. I always took her statements and McCain's statements to mean that she knows what it's like to live with someone with disabilities and she's going to do everything she can to bring awareness to disabilities.

Do you think there was a concerted effort to keep it quiet? This is the first I've heard of it and that suprises me. I'd think this was major news.

BJ, George Bush is not the canidate. Like McCain said, if Obama wanted to run against Bush, he should have ran 4 years ago. The only candidate in this race who ran against Bush was McCain. Makes you go hmmmmmmm

That would be completely disastrous for our country! I can't even begin to allow myself to speculate on what something like that would do to race relations. I believe it would bring out hatred and violence across the board. To some extent, that's a SMALL reason why I don't want Obama to win. I'm afraid if something happens to him, the country will erupt into a race war.
