agreatknead - please try to make sure you copy the last update when you post your update. If you are having problems with updating, please ask another poster on this thread to update your numbers for you.

lh44rn, be sure to do your research. If you are going to have your surgery done long distance, what arrangements will you make for post-op care? Remember, the post-op care is just as important as the surgery itself. If you don't have proper fills the band will not work effectively or if you become too tight you will need to have someone do an emergency unfill. Make sure you check around locally to see if the doctors or fill centers will provide post-op care for you even if you have your surgery out of town by a different doctor.

I got banded 3 months ago. I lost 10 lbs the first 2 weeks after banding; then nothing for a couple of weeks; then 2-3 lbs lost and regained for a couple of weeks until they finally dropped for good; then nothing for a couple of weeks; then 2-3 lbs yo yo again.... It's frustrating but at least I am losing and even though it's been only 20 lbs, it's made a HUGE difference in the way I feel physically. My doctor doesn't seem very concerned about how slow it's coming off. He said it's because my fill isn't quite where it needs to be. He feels confident that once I get the right amount of restriction, the lbs will come off more steadily. I got my 4th fill last Tuesday and it has dramatically cut back the amount of food I can eat at one sitting. I can only handle 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup maximum.

Then there are those who play yo yo with the same 2-3 lbs for weeks before finally getting rid of it only to play yo yo with the next 2-3 lbs. That's how my weight loss goes.

I have the same one. I used to have a jackrabbit and I loved it.

Sadly, those of us with junkless trunks will have to consider buying undies with the padded butts (I saw some in Frederick's of Hollywood) or when we get our PS, we can ask them to take the fat from the lipo and stick it on the trunk. I'm giving it some serious thought. Something to keep me motivated during this slow, trickling weight loss.

TV is "real life"? I guess when we hang out in cyberworld, the living room TV seems pretty real... LOL There are extreme right wing nut jobs on those threads but they are balanced by extreme left wing liberal groupies. They sicken me equally so I unsubscribed. I know I said I couldn't help but peek in once in a while (like watching a train wreck) but I finally got enough. They have entered into some sort of hysterical madness.

You may want to ask your doctor about the other fill solution. There is a thicker solution that might work better for you. I have heard they use it when they suspect there might be a leak but I know of one person who didn't have a leak but could never feel a fill so they switched to the thicker fluid which immediately made a difference. But with or without "feeling" the fill, you've done a superb job in weight loss!

I know exactly what you mean. I walk around and take deep breaths to try and relax. So far, 5 minutes is about the longest episode I've had. It only happens when I forget to chew, chew, chew.
