What would happen if Barack Obama were Assasinated?
Donna113 replied to TheWatcher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The Libertarians NEED to take over the conservative party and this country! C'mon Watcher, I'll make room for you in my party. -
Gadgetlady, The Watcher, and all in between...
Donna113 replied to stevegoad's topic in Rants & Raves
Those are the reasons I ask myself WTF am I doing in Houston, TX? Humidity, mosquitos and large bugs aside, the living is pretty easy here. Great career opportunities, relatively low cost of living and the real esate bubble hasn't been nearly as bad here as it has in the rest of the country. Don't you just love hijacking a thread and changing the subject? :w00t: -

I think it's just a compulsive habit of mine and probably many others as well to "straighten" people out on the facts. At least the facts I choose to acknowledge. :w00t: -
:w00t: Thanks, I really needed that! :w00t:

Gadgetlady, The Watcher, and all in between...
Donna113 replied to stevegoad's topic in Rants & Raves
Luluc, there are intelligent and ignorant people voting for both Obama and McCain. I wasn't trying to imply people voting for Obama are unintelligent, I meant exactly what I said, which is that many Obama supporters seem to respond to him as if he's the next hero who will rescue them and all their loved ones from the jaws of poverty itself. -
I don't know if this is normal but the same thing happened to me on my second fill. I've had 2 more fills since then and haven't noticed if they were also bloody.

Steve actually started this thread and named Watcher in the subject line. Anyway, from what I see and hear, many Obama supporters are looking at him as if he is the Second Coming so it doesn't surprise me at all when people start using words usually reserved for religious matters when they refer to Obama. -

Frustrated with slow loss
Donna113 replied to october's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
October, there are PLENTY of people who are slow losers. You just don't see that many of them on here because I think many of them are so frustrated/embarrassed they stay away. They do come back when the weight starts to fall off though. Anyway, I was banded on July 16 and have only lost 21 lbs since then and my weight loss has been similar to yours (gaining and losing the same 2-3 lbs before dropping them for good and then starting the next cycle with the next 2-3 lbs). Keep the faith. Kalypso - have you notice you are no longer obese but merely overweight now? Congrats! Here's three woots to you! :w00t::w00t::w00t: -
I think people are wired to be exclusive and cliquish. We are still Darwinian and constantly trying to prove we are fittest. In order for us to be the fittest, someone must be lesser. For humans, this isn't always physical fitness (although the prejudice against obese people and short men fit into that category). Anyway, the point is that to be "fitter = better", someone has to be less than us. If they are less than us, then they don't deserve to live as much as we do.

LBL; Breast Lift/Reduction - 10/30/08- yippee! yikes!
Donna113 replied to mcgreen's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
That really sucks! Mine started the morning of my lap band surgery. That was uncomfortable, I feel so bad for you to have to deal with the period the first week of your PS surgery. -
Fanny, your comment about all you Aussies looking alike brings up an interesting question to my mind. WARNING this may sound extremely politically incorrect so for those of you who are overly sensitive, STOP READING RIGHT NOW!!! Is there any stigmatism associated with "white" Aussies mixing with Aboriginees? Which naturally leads me to the NEXT I wonder...is Aboriginee still used to describe the native people of Australia or has that become as politically incorrect as calling our Native Americans Indians? These are the things I wonder about when it's a cool, drizzly day in Australia.

I am so addicted to my scale, if something happened to it, I'd have to go into rehab.

It appears they've changed the chat options again and taken away the option to create a room so I couldn't figure out how to create a July Butterflies room. It doesn't appear anyone's in the chit chat room so we can always use that room. Anyway, I have an appointment so I need to run for now. CBL:tongue:

I just typed up a long thank you note to Janet for reminding us to the true key to success and "poof" the forum sent it into never never land! Argh Anyway, thanks a bunch Janet.

I'll open up an 11 AM Central/ 12 PM Eastern chat room entitled "July Butterflies" for those interested in popping in.

Welcome back New Mama and congrats on your phenomenal weight loss!!! :w00t: It seems it happens to everyone at some point or the other. I've heard starting at about the 4th month and then tapering off after 6 months. I've also heard it grows back. Many here keep saying protein, biotin, etc., but the consensus seems to be that NOTHING you do will stop the hair loss (related to weight loss and the stress it puts on the body). Once your body adjusts to the stress of losing weight, the hair stops falling out and as long as you aren't predisposed to baldness, it all comes back. I use a Centrum orange flavored chewable multi-vitamin which isn't bad at all. I can only find them at CVS. I've heard it here and at my doctor's office. It makes perfect sense.

You look great! What do you mean by "Time to move on"? Are you saying that now you've reached goal you are abandoning the rest of us who are still on our journey? We need successful experienced banders to continue to be on this site to help us through the rough spots and more importantly to motivate us. When I see the successful b/a pics, it really keeps me going. My weight loss has been excrutiatingly slow so I need all the motivation I can get. I have to say it again, YOU LOOK GREAT!!!

Long Post and Delicate Queestion...
Donna113 replied to GratefulHeart's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes you are but that's to be expected under these circumstances. As for knowing our surgeons well, I personally don't know mine very well. When I have interacted with him post-op, he's been friendly but like most doctors, very rushed. I think many here have similar experiences. Some have worse and some better. My doctor said I could resume sexual activity as soon as I felt like it, including the same night of surgery. I didn't have a hiatal hernia though so I don't know if that makes a difference. -
The things we crave once we're sworn off all "real food" is bizarre.

Hi 1day. It's nice to hear from you again. I hope the restriction sticks. It seems the right level is a very, very fine line and one that can come and go.
