Thanks MiniMe for this thread. I am a fellow Sprivak bandster and also a slow loser. When I get discouraged at the scales sitting and doing nothing and feel down, I remind myself that at least it's not going up and giving up is not an option because the band is there and it will not allow me to overeat. Now, eating around the band is another issue... I love sweets and can't have just one so I have to keep away from it altogether. Halloween was rough with all the chocolate and candy in the house and I indugled in a handful and sometimes 2 handfuls on a daily basis for 2 weeks+. Amazingly I didn't gain any weight doing that, but of course I didn't lose any weight either. Makes me think that if I hadn't indulged like that, I would have broken 190. I've been fluctuating back and forth between 190 and 192 for the past 3 weeks and it's so frustrating!

I'm back from my 5th fill which takes me up to 5 ccs in an 8 cc band. I can definitely feel more restriction (I can even feel it when I drink water). The test will be when I eat dinner tonight.

So close... I remember how excited I was thinking about how wonderful it was going to be to meet my babies.

Back from my 5th fill. They added another .5 cc to take me up to a total of 5 ccs. I can definitely feel the extra .5 ccs. Now I'm hungry but I don't know if I can eat -- I'm going to stick to liquids for the rest of the day and ease back into solids. I'm hopeful this fill will help me break 190 by the end of the week.

I'm heading out for my 5th fill to try to find it. I'm beginning to think it's an imaginary feeling that only delusional people get. It's been explained that the sweet spot is achieving satisfaction after consuming approx. 6 oz of solid food and remaining satisifed for 4-5 hours.

I'm a slow loser too and know that for me I have to exercise to lose weight because I'm not into food diaries and don't want to be on a diet for the rest of my life. I got the band for help with portion control and it is helping me there but to get better results I know it has to be exercise. You don't have to go to a gym to exercise. There are cheap exercise dvds, there are stairs you can go up and down and and walking is free and can be done anywhere, even inside your house. You can also jog in place, jump rope, etc. There are a number of things you can do on your own and in your own home. Now, I just need to follow my own advice...

So good to see you back and posting again BBK.

Have either of you tried the 5 day pouch test? It seems to help many that are having problems to help calm the esophagus and the stomach and gradually gets you back to solids. Surgical Weight Loss 5 Day Pouch Test I haven't had any issues but tried the 5 day pouch test just for the "renew" feeling. I found the 5 day diet eas to follow and consider it more of a detox diet.

Under the right circumstances, I've found that most men will do just about anything...

Orea, it's so good to see you back and posting and even better to hear that the hunger monster is finally being tamed. It is amazing all the food others eat isn't it? When I eat around others, I'm always amazed at the amount and then amazed that I used to eat that much and maybe more prior to banding.

I've had 3 MILs and I have either been extremely lucky and had great MILs or I'm so special they couldn't help but love me. Of course, I've got the mother from hell so maybe that's karma--sorry life dealt you such a difficult mom so you're consolation prize is great MILs.

How much have you lost July Butterfllies??

I've not been logging what I eat because I HATE doing it. For me, keeping an eating journal only causes me to obsess about food all the more. I haven't been losing so maybe I just need to force myself to log the food. I still think exercise is going to be the key for me and I just need to kick myself back into it again. -
So, you're going for inherent craziness that would have manifested regardless of fame and fortune? I hate to admit I might be wrong so I'll compromise and say OK, severe bipolar disorder that was TRIGGERED by living in a fishbowl of fame and fortune.

Lulu, I'm beginning to think you must be married to my brother because your MIL sounds like my MOTHER!

Happy belated birthday Crzytchr! Once you start getting some restriction from the fills, the morning eating seems to be out. Most people can't handle anything but liquids until lunch time. I got for my 5th fill tomorrow. I hope it gives me some more restriction as I can eat just about anything (nothing gets stuck unless I eat too fast) and I can eat way more than 2 cups of food at a sitting. Although I don't feel I have much restriction and I'm eating way less food than I used to eat, I also don't feel hungry like I used to; in fact I'm rarely hungry these days even if I skip meals. Down side, I am not losing, but at leat I am not gaining. I really think at this point, it's going to have to be exercise for me.

It could be argued that it was Britney's fame and fortune that caused her downfall in the first place. We can't look back and we don't know what's to come so all we can do is deal with what IS.

I can SO relate to this. -
I don't have either at the moment but I've been meaning to set up a facebook. I have family members asking me to create it so that we can "friend" and share pics of the kids and latest news.

I have no weight gain to report, but no loss either. It seems I'm holding steady and can't break the 190. I've been fluctuating between 190 and 192 for the past month. I get a 5th fill tomorrow so I'm hoping that will really kick it off. -
Kat, my pies come from the bakery--I know it's not the same as smelling them bake in the oven but it sure is a lot less labor intensive and a hell of a lot better than anything I could bake.

Heather, it's 10% band and 90% you. YOU did this! You inspire me. -
I can use a glass myself but it seems I have all the kids from the neighborhood in my backyard and I don't want them running home and telling their mommies that Sedona's mom drinks grape juice but won't give them any. LOL

Include yourself in that "wonderful set of women" and let's not forget our token man. Yes, Plain, we're talking about you behind your back again.

WOW Heather, to be losing while you have such a precious bundle growing is amazing; especially in light of the fact that at a BMI of 25 you are no longer considered overweight. You have reached the land of "NORMAL"! Congrats on a fantastical year! You've achieved a lot this year.
