My most scary moment was with mushies. I decided to mash in some fresh in season cherries. Slowly chewed the mushy fruit but somehow I missed a cherry pop and it got stuck. The pain was excruciating and nothing would move it. I ended up at a clinic being given a liquid to make vomit to try and dislodge it which eventually happened. But Even now three years later I cannot stand even the smell of cherries

My first two weeks post op my dietician advised only have what would go up a thin straw and 6 x 50mls a day So I would have 50 ml vege and fruit juice, 50 ml of blended canned soup and 50 ml of banana/mango and skim milk smoothies with some plain yoghurt. I had each of these twice a day varying the type of juice, soup etc. It was at the mushie stage I struggled to get variety

I had a leaking port and when it was replaced if was moved to my left hand side. Since then the surgeon has real difficulty finding the port for fills, it hurts getting the needle inserted and feels almost gristly. Twice I have gotten an infection and needed antibiotics as I had blood pooling in the tissue around the port area where the needle had been inserted many times to find the port. With the original port fills were a piece of cake. Needle in and out and done, same surgeon has been involved from the start. What could be causing this issue

Help! Peanut Butter Is The Devil!
marloo replied to Bama53's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh gosh I can relate. It is the one thing I can't seem to give up at night. I try to stick to a smear on a cracker biscuit each night and have tried replacing it with ricotta but isn't the same. So I give myself the permission given I am so strict about what else I eat -
Any January Surgery Bandsters?
marloo replied to msirish's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm having my band redone on 7th January. It was first done in feb 2009 and I have dropped from 154kgs to 100kgs but have plateaued for nearly two years. After having a leaking port replaced in sept 2012 the band is still leaking so decision has been made to redo the whole procedure. Can't wait to recommence the journey -
Hi Marie I have lost 106lbs. The first 70 odd just fell off but I have been on plateau for about a year. My surgeon has found that my port is leaking the fill so am scheduled to have port replaced on 27th sept. I do 25 mins exercycle on 5 or 6 gms of seafood. I have a low fat muesli bar mid arvo and about an hr after dinner I have 1/4 cup fresh fruit with 1/4 cup low fat yoghurt and a couple of dessert spoons of low joule jelly. I drink about a litre of Water a day and probably 4 cups of coffee and diet soda. I started my exercise on the Exercycle and about 15 months later started on treadmill but unfortunately have done some ligament damage to ankle that won't heal so am back on bike My surgeon has suggested a gastric sleeve if having the port replaced and fills done does not move the weight. I have about 55lbs further to lose
