  1. I won't be banded until December, so right now I'm just in the preparing stages. I understand that after surgery, we have to do a liquid diet and then transition to "mushies", then soft foods, then everything. I have recently discovered the baby food in pouches (Plum brand, Ella's Kitchen, etc.) and they're actually pretty tasty. So far, I have liked the Ella's Kitchen sweet potatoes, pumpkin, apples, blueberries (that's all in one packet) and the broccoli and apples. They have no protein but are low calorie, not processed, real food (pureed), organic, and they have veggies, which I rarely eat. Would these be an acceptable food for the liquid or mushy stage or for a permanent food choice?

    Baby Food After Surgery?

Wow. These replies are awesome. And honest, which I love. I feel like I'm one of the family now. Thanks for taking the time to discuss this subject for me.
  3. Check out www.shrinkyourself.com. It's an online program that teaches you WHY you eat emotionally and HOW to stop it. It's 12 weeks so no overnight success. I'm on my first week of it and won't be banded until December so you can discount this input if you like. But it may be worth a shot! Check it out!
  4. I am single and live alone. I will be banded in December. My doctor does it on an outpatient basis, and I live 2 hours from his office. What was your experience with needing someone to help you in the hours and days following surgery? I'm sure I'll need someone to drive me home afterwards, but do I need to plan on having someone spend a night with me? More than one night? Am I likely to need physical support (lifting things, etc) or emotional support (pain management, meal prep, etc.)?

  6. I've been stalking the site for a couple of weeks and I've learned a lot. I have decided I definitely want to get banded and have begun my physician research. I was surprised to learn from my first physician contact that I am not required to attend a seminar, there is no overnight hospital stay, and he said I can go home the same day as surgery even though I live two hours away. I'm self-pay. Thoughts, anyone?

    Arkansas Banding

Tklee30, I haven't decided 100% but I'm leaning towards Wellborn. It's between him and Luttrell. Do you have a date yet?
