Second Guessing My Decision....normal?
Luci84 replied to Harrier's Woman's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
IMy surgery is scheduled for October 4th A WEEK FORM TODAY! And it has been a total rollercoaster by the hour since I started the pre op diet. I can do this- no I can't. I NEED the surgery-I DON'T NEED the surgery. This is the smart decision-I am making the mistake of a life time!.. You get the idea- and it literally is by the hour and to top it off last night I had a dream that I was in the surgery room and changed my mind and walked out of the hospita (in the dress thingy they give in all) and i nmy dream I walked out of the hospital loosing weight WITHOUT the surgery, like it was melting away. Needless to say that I woke freaked out thinking, my oh my! Is my mind playing games with me even as I sleep or is my subconcious trying to tell me something here?! I want to believe that having the lap band in place will help me achive healthy choices long term and not feel like it is a rest of your life diet, but I keep thinking that I will miss food. And more so I honestly get kinda down for not talking myself out of it, does that make sense? Ahh I am scared period. -
Getting Banded In Houston, Tx October 4Th (Boy Oh Boy)

Hey I am having mine with Dr. Hollis too!! And reading your post makes me even more apprehensive :/ I have been having a LOT of seconf toughts and my surgery is a week away. -WITHOUT A DOUBT- the is no cheating after the lap band if you are serious about loosing weight and a truly car concsious of your health and risk factors (slipage etc..) So my mind really starts gearing up on how good I am doing with the pre op and going to the gym and I start thinking- WHY COULDN'T I keep this up WITHOUT the surgery? Especially if I have to do this afterwards anyway... the whole eating small portions- chewing chewing chewing VERY Well and the most important one ECXERSCISE... BE ACTIVE and I totaly start second guessing my choice.. Any words of advise? Did either of you feel/or have felt this way? Please tell me I am not alone on this feeling? -
That is great!! I wish mine was at Memorial city- that is down the street from me! I am having it done all the way in Southeast Memorial Hermann :/ I wanted to attend this last Tuesaday but wasn't too sure if I could just show up..

I am in Houston, TX and going through True Results but because insurance my operating doctor will be Ken Hollis. If there is anyone in Houston going through True Results- will you all be attending the support groups they offer? I have lost 6 pounds so far- yay me!!

Thank you so much for sharing!! " I KNOW that, had I not had my faithful Lap Band in place, I would have continued gaining weight from eating over stress" - This really resonates with me as I am doing my pre op diet and have moments of the day that I feel like this is the best choice for me and other moments when I am flat out scared. I Feel that I am doing good on the pre op diet but recognize that if I did not have the surgery scheduled and put myself in the midset that this will be a permanet change.. down the road I will fall to the temptaions of overindulging. I am nervous but reading your post really has put me at ease that I am making the right choice for my health. I am 28 and have 3 little boys who I want be able to give my best to for years to come. Again THANK YOU so much for sharing!
