I chose the band bc for me the sleeve felt too drastic a choice-for now. I even had a date fir that surgery but i just didnt have a peace for removing so much of my stomach. Not that it might nit be right for someone else or even myself in the future. But. I have great hope thAt this will be a huge help as a tool to lose. Also plan to attend support groups

Or does your social life change to not include food related activities? Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question. We eat out a lot with friends. Just curious????

And would say they are sorry they did it. My husband just asked me to ask everyone. He thinks its so drastic and i think hes afraid for me. I think it would help him be more supportive we just celebrated 30 yrs????????

I saw a post about whether to tell parents. My situation is a little different. My family is freaking out. My husband thinks its crazy and pretty much everyone including my adult kids and parents are all acting upset. Im nervous enough as it is Anybody have similar prob? What should i do?

I know with the Lap Band you have to cut your meds in small pieces. Is it the same for sleeve?

Thanks i know they will come around. Unless i have complications. Thats the scary part obviously. Great advice though!

Sleeve vs Band? And is the weight loss faster with Sleeve? My date is oct 11th. Still cant believe it. Really nervous about all of the risks they list in the paperwork. Like reading a medicine bottle!

Hi, I see that you just had your sleeve done a few weeks ago. How are you feeling? Maybe it's too soon to ask, but are you glad you had it. I am scheduled for Oct 10th and I'm really nervous. I had planned on the Lap Band and then the surgeon sort of talked me into the sleeve, though he said I could do whatever I wanted. I got the feeling from him that he thought I would do better with the sleeve.i felt good about the decision until I told my family and friends who think it's a drastic thing to do and I should have the Lap Band not the sleeve. I feel so conflicted. I am so tired of trying and failing to lose weight. Every year I get a little bigger . I'd love to start a new life where food wasn't so important and I could get on teh ground and play with my 1 year old granddaughter. To Sleeve or not to sleeve, that is the question:). Thanks for sharing P.S. I want to lose about 80 pounds and I have a bmi of 39.

Saw someone post about 'leak test". Is this really awful?

Scheduled for Oct 10th for sleeve. Had planned on lap band. But surgeon said sleeve is a good option for me. Scared and dont know what to do. Changing my mind every other min. Bmi is 38. Need to lose 80. Is sleeve too drastic? Im scared and want to do right thing.

I hear you. Just keep busy. You're almost there. I make lists and work off of them to stay focused. Hope that helps

Hi Im new. Ive posted a couple of times but mostly read all the great info here Im all ready for my band except for i found out i have a hiatal hermia and bad acid reflux. I will find out tomorrow whats next. Worried this will hold up my surgery. Anybody know anything about

Hi im in the same boat. Psych visit 10/2 then im done. Just need a date. Exciting and scary at the same time isnt it?!
