I had a fill yesterday and I had a not so good day. I was not able to eat or drink. I had so much acid reflux and had to sleep sitting up. The fill may be too much. So I decided I would wait one more day just to see if it is just swelling or my band is too tight then go back to see my Dr for a little unfill. Today I am just on liquids.

Dr did a little unfill and I am feeling better. She says if I am losing 7 pounds a month, I am doing fine.

I think I will call right now. My throat is burning from the acid. Thanks Kitt

I am finally making progress since my last fill and finally feeling some restriction. Crossing my fingers and eyes that I will keep losing weight.

Had a fill today and now at 7.25 cc. the only thing different about this fill is my Dr took all the Fluid out to measure how much I already had then she put it all back in plus a .25. It's all fine. Well except she did have problems finding my port which never happen before. She says it tilted a little. So she was searching and moving that huge needle around under my skin trying to get at my port. I know that is going to be sore later. My big mistake was after my fill I took a big gulp of coffee and then it feels stuck. What do you call that when you keep burping slime? Well that's me right now. And I am hungry, my tummy is growling. Dr says" liquids today, soft tomorrow and see me again for another fill. If you have any problems, go to the ER to unfill". Well I feel like I just had an unfill and a fill all at once. Wow, Did I just complain? Sorry for that. Bottom line, I had a fill and I am fine.

months after my surgery, I needed to burp so bad and it would not come out. I felt so uncomfortable until one day I bent over to pick up a pencil and out it came. It sounded like a tiger roar. I was so relieved and I did not apologize to the people around me. Before that I was walking, bending over, taking, gas x and jumping down the stairs. I was trying everything to get the burp out. I hope you find a solution so you are not so uncomfortable. Good luck

First thank you everyone for your support. I went to see my Dr a few days ago. Well last Christmas I got the flu. After I was well my neck was in pain. I went to see my Dr and my thyroid was inflamed and swollen. Now I am cold all the time, my hair is falling out, I am tired all the time and I have gained weight. Hypothyroidism! I have one more test and maybe another ultrasound to do and that will tell my Dr if I need meds to help with my thyroid problem. In the mean time, I got another fill and now up to 7.5 cc and continue with my diet and small portions. And go back for another fill in June.. I am not so worried about the fill, I would like the get my thyroid under control. Thank you everyone for your positive thoughts and being supportive, It really help me get through my negative feelings. I think I will be ok now. But I will be back for more encouragement when I need it.

I got my band Oct of 2012 and have only lost 40 pounds at first. Now since my one year bandaversary I have gained weight. I am having such a hard time losing. I have a 10 cc band (I guess) and have 7cc fill. I have not seen my Dr in months for another fill because I was ashamed of my weight gain. I fell like a failure and thinking about having the band removed. I am at the point that I just have to accept that I will always be a fat girl/mom/wife. My body is never going to change to matter how much I want it to. I feel like I wasted everyone's time and money getting this wonderful band in. I feel ashamed I have not lost any weight. I can eat full meals and not feel full. Now and then my food will get stuck and I get rid of it, but then I will take another bite to replace what I just lost. This just is not working out for me. I guess I am just that one person who will not succeed at losing weight.

Sharpie, Enjoy, 2muchfun, Bandista, dylan, and Catfish. You all are great people. I came here for encouragement and in hope to find someone who struggles like me. I wanted to know how they overcame obstacles. What empowers them or motivates them. Did they just give up or pushed through? I had WLS to save my life, to enjoy more life.

It does not matter anymore.

Thank you Martha for confirming what a loser I am. I must really do hate myself for giving up. Geez, I was almost feeling hopeful that my life would get better. Thanks for shooting that down. How does it feel to be perfect?
-
As my child would have said "you can judge people when you are perfect". That was very rude. You know your body better than anyone else and you know what is right for you. Keep your chin up.

ok everyone, I have called my Dr's office and I am going in next Thrusday. I am going to get it all out on the table. Perhaps her and I can come up with a plan to get me back on track. It's a good feeling know I'm not alone. Because sometimes it does feel that way.

It's been year since I got my band. Most of the time I forget it's there. I have been doing fine with it and have about 6.5 cc. I think I can have another fill. Although I am not real faithful to get fills just when I think I need one. I think I started out with 4 cc a year ago. Now my weight has just stood still. I have lost motivation and probably too embarrassed to tell my Dr the truth. I have not been true to my band, in fact I have eaten large portions and suffered later. So now to fill or not to fill, that is the question. Just some thoughts...

okay, you all talked me into it! I have called and made an appointment with my Doc. Who by the way is out of the bariatric business but is still willing to see me. Thanks my friends

Sensitive Skin on belly - Stings and Aches???
takuwinds replied to ccjll's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you maybe allergic to the bandaid, I have heard sometimes that some people break out in a rash because of the adhesive. You are bloated because of the gas they put in your stomach to do the surgery. You can try gas x to for relief and walk around. It will pass. -
How do i know if i need another fill??
takuwinds replied to miss679's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
wow, good to know -
It happens, mine is finally starting to grow back. Keep taking your vitamins. Congrats on your weight loss

wow, thanks Toddy. This is good to know. So I guess slippage is really painful I assume?
-
I am 3 months post op and just this week it feels like I have a stitch in my side. It feels like the kind of pain like I ran really really hard but I have not been that kind of active. I am wondering what does a slippage feel like?

Basics of Carb cycling???
takuwinds replied to vlp1968's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i am trying carb cycling right now, this is my first week and so far I am not impressed. -
Before I was banded in October I had a 41 inch waist. Today I have a 38.5 inch waist. But I checked my weight today and it says I gained 2 pounds. I am going to believe the inches lost more than the scale. I love my band.
-
Just got my first fill, it hurt a little. The size of that needle was OMG! It's over now and I have 5cc in my band. AND lost 13 pounds since my surgery 6 weeks ago. Now I am super dooper hungry and sipping on a Protein shake.

Thanks SoccerBlue, I will try to remember that next time.
