OK....surgery Oct 24th, RNY instead of sleeve, due to Barretts...down 26lbs. Slow, but sure. No pre surgery diet, no stalls yet. HW=235 SW= 234 CW= 209 -

I was all set to have VSG. I had my endoscopy and they found Barrett's....cannot do a VSG if Barretts progresses to dysplasia to cancer. A bypass will help with the Barretts. I had no other symptoms like heartburn or acid reflux. -

Slight change of plans......due to finding Barrett's on my endoscopy two days ago (no symptoms), I will now have RNY instead of sleeve on Wed. Oct 24th. A small hiccup in the grand scheme of things.... -
-Carnation Instant Essentials ready to drink, no added sugar -Protein shakes Other fluids that are acceptable for snacks: -broth -Sugar free, Jell-o; sugar free popsicles; sugar free puddings -sugar free hot chocolate, mixed with Water or low fat milk -1% or skim milk -V-8 juice This is the list my Nut gave me at the pre-op appt.

It seems so long since I decided to go through with this. I am 53 yrs with a 14 yr old and an almost 13 yr old. I need to keep up with them and want to be active with them. I started this process in Feb and finally have a date of Oct 24th. Am anxious and a bit excited to start this journey! Hubby wasn't supportie at first, but has since realized I must do this....his BMI is 25!! I can do this!! -
