  1. I had Gastric Bypass on 10/17/17 and my surgery weight was 475lbs. My heaviest weight ever recorded was 581lbs on Jan 9th of 2017 today I weighed in at 405lbs 70 down since surgery and 176 total since last Jan. Going back to Junior high and school I can't remember the last time I was able to tell someone that I was 3 something and even though that's still a large # it's not 400 and it's not 500 and it defiantly not near the almost 600 I was at just over a year ago, I've been struggling a little bit with the scale the last 6-8 weeks. It would either stay the same or go down 1/2 pond here and there. These last 8 pounds since being 408 has been a real struggle I just want to see that scale say 399 and that will be the true milestone point for me in this journey that I've made it that all this hard work is paying off and I can move on to the next goal. I know it seems silly to think this way being that I've already lost 176lbs and that should be a milestone on it's own and trust me I don't shy away from that at all. It's just a personal thing to me that I see 399 or less when I just on the scale. Not sure if any of you can relate or have had some similar experiencies and can give some encouragement. I hope this post finds all of you well and on a successful journey of your own. Thanks everyone!!

    Weight loss Stalls

Just curious for some of you what your longest stalls were and how far along you were post-op that you had your first stall? I had bypass on 10-17-17 I started my journey in Jan of last year I was 581 I was 475 on surgery day Today I’m 404 but I have been 404-408 since 2/18 Still doing all the right things or at least I think I am. I’ve also tried upping and lowering my calories no luck. I’m trying to not get down about it but I just have this goal of being 399 or less and my first major milestone and to be at 404 and having this stall like I have been is getting to me. Just curious any advice or encouragement any of you other guys have for me as I keep telling myself it’s only temporary but how long does temporary have to last. Thanks everyone.

6lbs away from knowing I made it...

Thank You!!! Yes My wife just recently got into the 199 and down to 192 It's just a different feeling it puts it in a different mindset. It's like that thumb or hurdle that I've been running the race but and jumping over hurdle over hurdle but when I get to this one I trip over it. Thanks for responding.
  8. It's hard to answer this question without other factors being involved. If you don't have support from your spouse then I would think there's other issues in the marriage that we just don't know about or that you might not be willing to admit. Best advice I can give is really sitting him down and asking him if I go through with this will I have your support and if not what are your next steps.

Is it possible to do this for the "wrong" reasons?

You have to come first. Without you taking care of you first you wont around to take care of them. So yes those that are saying that you hav etc do it for you are correct. However this is an inner personal struggle that you will have to learn to achieve to get over your fears. Trust me I know exactly what you're saying. I was the same way. Thinking that I had to do it all for everyone else. It put too much pressure on me. Sometimes and you'll have to have these conversation with all those involved that you'll hav etc sacrifice some time to get you right to be able to provide a better quality of life later on. I had to learn that Quality is better than quantity. You've got this and anything that I can do to help you along the way just ask.

Anyone in the 9-12 week range?

I'm a little further out but it varies for me really. I can do about 1200 depending on the food I'm eating. but normally i'm at around 750 to 1000. I try to eat the meats and cheese's mainly the protein first at every meal. Using some fats to help get the calories up and to make food taste better. I was 581 in Jan 475 on surgery day today i'm 405
  11. Can't complain too much as I'm 405lbs and was 581lbs this time last year.

  12. 5 lbs away from a milestone that I've been trying to hit for years. Been in a little bit of a funk with the scale lately trying to hit 399lbs but I did lose 3 over night and on the bigger picture scale I was 581lbs this time last year so to be 405lbs I will take every bit of it.

  18. Hey all, My family and I do vlogs on YouTube and documenting the journey of my wife and me in our journey's with weight loss surgery. My wife was sleeved on 9-18 and I'll be having gastric bypass on 10-17 this coming Tuesday. I set a goal for myself when I started back in Jan that I wanted to lose 100lbs before my surgery. I had my final weight in and recorded what the scale said in a recent vlog. Did I hit the goal?
  19. Hello, everyone. I'm a 38 male from Michigan who started my program back in March. In January I was 581lbs, Today I'm 503lbs and my goal is to have lost 100lbs when I go in for surgery on the 17th of October. with the help of my surgeon, we've both decided that Gastric Bypass would be my best option. I've been obese my whole life since the age of 6. It's the one thing I've not been able to beat but I'm sure working on it. If anyone is interested, I would love the support of subbing to my YouTube Channel. If you sub, please leave a comment on here so that I can personally thank you. I look forward to interacting with you all and wish you all much success in your own journeys.

  21. I know this thread s from a year ago but I was searching other weight loss vloggers to follow. I also love and support Reeger and her podcast as well. I found her just searching weight loss podcasts one day. It really the only one that I find that is still active to this day. I also vlog my journey. Not sure if any of you would like a males point of view but would love all of you for the support. Don;t judge me as I'm new to this but learning quickly. I'm set to have my surgery Oct 17th 2017 so this is fresh vlog from the start of the journey
