I know I'm not there yet as my surgery is oct 17th but you gotta stay strong. You got this no problem. Stick to the program so you can be the best you. You coming on here is the first step too. Don't bottle this stuff up and talk about it. No judgement at all, no one said this is going to be easy at all. Myself and well as a bunch of other on this forum are here for you. -

Toughest Decision I've ever made, My intro to weight loss surgery
TooBIG.net posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hello everyone, I've been a member since 2007 I believe when I was researching then wither or not to have the surgery. I never went through with it at that time. I was scared and I don't think I was ready. At the time my mind was focused on LapBand. Now present day, I have been instantly approved by my insurance company for weight loss surgery. I've made the decision to blog my journey on youtube. I want to document the whole process and transformation. Not only for myself but for my 2 beautiful girls. Mainly so they can see and know how much daddy fought for to get healthy for them. I'm also doing this to become a better husband and better provide for my family and give them and myself an overall better quality of life. I'm 38 and an IT Professional, I was always reserved about surgery. Mainly because I was scared but as I've gotten older I have run into some health issues and have found out that I'm no longer super man and need the extra help to get over the hump of weight loss. Jan 9th of this year I was 581lbs, Presently I'm 547 and although I'm already approved for surgery I've been give a goal to lose 50-60 lbs and get below 500 before they want to operate. I'm determined and excited for this process. I';m here to learn and here for support. I've already read some incredible stories and look forward to more and sharing my progress along the way. I hope and welcome all of you to join along. If interested my YouTube page can be found here TooBIG's Journey Through Weight Loss Surgery Thanks Everyone- 6 replies

Hello All, Just wanted to introduce myself. I was brought on to this message board when someone had put a link to my site on here and I was checking my logs and jumped aboard. I've struggled with my weight and have been obese all of my adult life and early childhood. In the past year I have recently promised myself that I was going to make a change. I looked into all types of surgery and decided that the Lap Band procedure is what was best for me with my doctors advice as well. I have yet to get the surgery done. My insurance wants me to go through a monitored diet program for a period of 12 months. I have decided on the Beaumont Diet (local hospital all Protein shake diet) To date I have lost a total of 104 pounds starting on my birthday last year Jan 23rd. I challenged myself to lose 100 pounds by my birthday of next year 08. I have passed my goal. That was only my first goal...lol My target weight that I want to be at is 275 pounds. I believe I can do this. I also I believe I can do this without the lap band procedure as I've been able to lose the weight on my own. My will power is unbelievable. I just wish I would have been able to find it oh say 10-12 years ago. I have a blog that I update regularly with my progress and just rants and things about myself please give it a look and ask questions I'll be happy to answer anything. Even though I don't have the surgery and have not totally ruled it out I still want to show my face around here for the support that I get from all of you and also to be able to give support. I wish everyone success with the help of all of us we can succeed. Jess

Hey All, Per My Insurance I have to go through 12 months of a structured diet before I can be evaluated for the procedure. TO Date as of the 23rd of January 2007 I have lost 20 pounds on an all protein shake medically monitored diet. My goal is to be 100 pounds lighter by the time I do the surgery. I have my own website and I also am an Internet Radio host for Knockoutradio.net
