Haven't had my 1st fill yet and I'm down 20 lbs in one month buy I am not losing..it s been a few days...totally bummed out. The 16th I am hoping for my first fill. I didn't spend 4k for 20 lbs loss... Jk...I'm am keeping in mind its a tool but I still haven't been able to handle solids just yet either

... I was banded the 7th. I was losing a pound a day it seemed and now as I introduce solids no weightloss. I'm down almost 18 lbs total. Should I be worried? I've always been good at losig 5-10 lbs then that's all! Gonna have my 1st fill in Jan. Just feeling discouraged..its been 5 days and no weight change.

So I had tons of questions and called like once a week. I started my venture on Oct. 5th 2012 and was approved by Nov. 13th. I had no co morbidities but anthem stated 35 BMI with at least 2 co morbidities or _40 BMI with NO co morbidities. I was right at 40bmi. I hadn't met my deductible so all my office visits were about $ 90 most costly was the psych visit and the nutritionist which were not covered by my ins. My Hra applied $1000 towards my deductible and exhausted my Hsa. But once I was told I needed to have my gallbladder removed out patient, that procedure made me hit out of pocket 4k max and my 2k deductible. Since my charges are still pending I'm not sure what was covered at 100%. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I had surgery on Dec 7th 2012 and learned anthem works fast! Granted you have met all of the qualifications. I however learned not only must you meet the deductible, you have to meet the Out of pocket expense max in network as well. Which is in my case $4000.00 for the 80% to kick in. I did thank God! Since I needed to have my gallbladder removed prior to lapband surgery. I paid day of surgery $205.00 and the hospital submitted a claim for 34k which is still pending so I have no clue what my out of pocket will be for the hospital. My lapband was also robotical and was at a max price of 10k which was the going price at my surgeon's office and was also enter of excellence required.

So I called my nutritionist about what can be eaten today which is day 7 for me. The book I have been given by my surgeon's office says no pureed foods..it says soft foods on 7 thru 14. I attempted ti have small very small amount of tuna light mayo as a suggested recipe in the book. I took one bite and felt like I was going to DIE! After 20 mins of intense pain in my chest and upper back I went back to liquid. I had a big scare and I'm not ready for tuna yet. But I was told to introduce small amounts. I will try again tomorrow.

Bless your heart! I know its tough but for the sake of healing you may have to weed out the gatherings. Remember its not so much that you are not obeying the post op diet if you happen to cave in. It's the damage that can be done during your healing time. Your band is sutured to you and there is scar tissue. This area needs to heal and not be obstructed by any vomiting or heavy digesting that your system just isn't ready for. This could create long term damage. Be strong you can get through it and its ok to decline the invite. This is for you! It's your time!

I too am on my 1st week post op I eat and feel uncomfortable but my stomach is growling something awful throughout the day. I ignore it and stick to my liquid diet but still feel like I'm not understanding my body. How did it turn out for you after all? Any thoughts I'm sure would help.

I am on Day3 post op. I'm still in pain back, shoulder and abdomen area. Doing clear liquids and broth. I went in at 217 and today weighed in at 212. I'm focusing on healing walking and sipping water. I had hiatle hernia as well so sipping is difficult. No major hunger but the scent of foods around me makes me miss the ease chewing and swallowing foods. Getting a lil tired of broth but its all for the greater good

I too am on my 2nd day post op. I had a hiatle hernia repaired as well. I feel like I fell.off a building. Pain in shoulders and back and sipping water as much as possible. I am doing broth and jello. But I must confess tonight I am hungry. Thinking of what other soups I can move to...any thoughts?

Had surgery yesterday! Trying to walk and keep hydrated. Lots of pain in my shoulders and upper back. I am feeling a lil hungry but am having difficulty even drinking water. Walking seems to help

I'm down 5 lbs after gallbladder surger and meeting my surgeon tomorrow for my 2 week post op visit..Then Dec 7th is my lap band surgery...how much are we expected to lose in the pre op diet? Any thoughts?

So I am scheduled Dec 7 and I am super excited! My pre op diet was to begin 11/23/12...but I'm a lil tapped out on funds lately with all my medical visits. My surgeon wants me on the shakes he sells in office but is there an alternative Shake I can buy over the counter? Any thoughts?

For me, I have never had a surgery and I really am concerned about scars and the incisions. But I am glad I have this portal.

They did prescribe nausea meds...however I vomited repeatedly as I awoke from surgery...like while I was laying in recovery...See this scares me,I really hope I can ask the anesthesiologist of they can give me somethin else..I think maybe I had a bad reaction..thanks Doll!

My date got moved to Dec 7th since I had to have gallbladder Surgery 1st.. I am soo excited!

5 so far from my gallbladder surgery. I'm now scheduled for lapband and hernia repair. Did anyone vomit violently after surgery? I really feel like the vomiting affected my quick healing from the gallbladder removal..but I'm thinking I just had a reaction to the anesthesia..I'm wondering if I can ask the anesthesiologist to use something else...not sure its even a request I can make.. Any thoughts?

I know the feeling...I am always the life of the party but lately I have been playing the self pitty Card. I found an amazing boyfriend who is extremely hot and I find myself pushing him away.. Gurl don't miss out because of your self image issues you won't get back the time that is lost.. I tell you cause I'm telling myself..chin up doll!

Got Approval call yesterday! Shooting for Nov 30th! Having gallbladder removed tomorrow!

My fee wasn't waived...just the bcbs requirement for the 3. Month pre op weightloss was waived. My Advocate said my records from a weightloss clinic I went to a year ago where I was prescribed phentermine was acceptable. So now its just the psych eval and nutrition visit. I've already done the blood work and ekg in office.

Plan it quick! The end of year is coming and your insurance and deductible start over cone Jan 1 2013. I really hope I get scheduled for nov or dec. My out of pocket is gonna be $200. If I get it done next yr with will be $3000.00. I was told being on phentermine through previous weightloss attempts was good enough and my 3 month weightloss requirement was waived. So I am meeting with nutritionist and psych on same day this week. I am nervous since I am 1 yr out of an abusive marriage and I was honest about stress and the feeling of depression on the questionnaire. I have never felt any self pitty and I have always tried to remain strong for my 10 yr old daughter. I firmly believe my faith has driven me and the leaving him was the BEST choice for my little one and I. But now I am afraid the psych might say, the lap band is no good for me...someone please advise what the psych eval may consist of...
