I was banded on 9/7/12 with plication and was told by my surgeon it would help me stay full longer, therefore lose more weight. He explained to me that the pts that choose to get the plication lose more weight then just the LapBand. I weighed 232lbs at the time of surgery and down to 211lbs and it hasn't quit been two months. I want to be able to wear a two piece swimsuit the water park with my daughter and not have to wear a plain black one piece with shorts over it. I want to shop for clothes somewhere else other than Lane Bryant. I want to feel good when I go out with my husband or girlfriends but more than anything I want my self confidence back!

I was banded on 9/7 and was told by my doctor that I could return to work within 3days......wrong! I was banded on Friday and was scheduled to return to work on Monday. I called in Monday, went to work on Tuesday for 5 hours, stayed on Wednesday and back on Thursday. I'm a hygienist and work in a small office so I felt like it was important to tell them about the surgery. I wished then that I would've taking a week off to start off with, so if you have the time available take off as much time you can. Good luck with your LapBand journey!

Hi Susie, I was banded 9/7 and I noticed my steri strips coming off about 6 days after surgery. My doctor told me if they are starting to come off then gently finish peeling off while I'm in the shower so they come off easily. I've taken 3 off and still have 2 left on my left. One of them is where the port is and my doctor said that it's always the last one to heal. Best wishes with your recovery.

I was banded on Sept. 7th and I had horrible gas pains for about 48hrs after surgery. The only thing that helped was walking and raising my knees up to my chest while standing up. Hang in there!
