Do you count thinks like coffee, tea, crystal light, etc towards your daily water intake or does it have to be just water??? I've really got to get more water in each day, but I wasn't sure if these counted too. Thanks in advance!

Great, thank you!

I don't get involved in political debates EVER....but I stopped reading the first post when the writer used the wrong spelling of "their". THERE THEIR THEY'RE They have three separate meanings. Just saying. And that is the extent of my political opinion.

Me too....after we put the kids to bed and sit down to watch some TV...the snack monster rears it's ugly head. I've been saving calories so that I can have either some popcorn or almonds or something.

And by the way....I would give my left arm to experience a "pinnacle moment"....and I'm a lefty so that says a lot!

Um yeah, I could use some motivation. Motivate me. PLEASE. Thank you.

sorry, but I am just full of dumb questions!! I am very good about not eating any more than one cup of food at a meal. It's a rule I won't break. But today I am going to try salad for lunch. So I have some chicken breast I will use, plus lettuce. But since lettuce is so "puffy" (for lack of a better word!), how do you measure that without only eating like 4 pieces of lettuce because that's all that would fit in a measuring cup?? Do you smoosh it down? Thanks in advance!

Getting my protein in is not the issue at all. I get it every day (my NUT wants me to get 60 g). But I often get my protein in with very little calories. I guess I'll need to choose things once or twice a day that have a higher calorie content but the same amount f protein than I have been eating. I'll give it a whirl tomorrow!

I am four weeks post op and on a solid food diet. I can (physically) eat anything right now. My nutritionist gave me a calorie range of 750-800 calories a day, and I have been very good at not going OVER. But a lot of days I find I am way under. Like today, it is 8:15pm, and I have only eaten 452 calories today. I also walked 2.5 miles. I feel like that just isn't a lot of fuel!! If this happens to you, do you try to increase the next day, or do you have some kind of snack, or what?? Any advice is appreciated!

Thank you everyone!! I think I will just kind of eyeball it. And of course, I will measure everything I put on it, which won't be much. Just some chicken breast and a few cherry tomatoes. Thanks for putting up with my weird questions....I'm sure I'll have another one in an hour or two!

If you are using Unjury you need to be careful about the temperature. I think the label says you shouldn't put it in anything over 140 degrees, but I always make sure that if I am using Unjury I cool it down to at least 130 degrees. But right now I am using Body Fortress from WalMart, and that dissolves really easily.

I put a scoop of chocolate protein powder in my coffee....it kills two birds with one stone.

For the first time since I was banded on 9/11 I over did it. I ate dinner fine. But it's Sunday. It's football season. And after dinner I sat down with my hubby to watch some football, and even though I was still satisfied from my dinner two hours before, I decided to snack. I ate about 1/2 of a soft pretzel....counted the calories and was juuuuuust over for the day, but I walked two miles this morning so what the hell?? Anyway, I was FULL! Like thanksgiving dinner full. It was the first time I did that, and I don't want to do it again!

The urge to binge
bluegirly replied to carrie.0508's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can do it!!! I'm only 4 weeks out, but I can eat real food now so I don't struggle so much right now. But when I was first banded and had the urge to binge, I would come on this site and read old threads. It helped me realize I'm not alone, and if others did it, so can I!! Hang in there! -
I got mine at target....I have the flex and I love it!! I love that you can track your water intake, since I always lose track of that!

pain in my lower side..

Smack your husband! He shouldn't have tempted you that way! You went through so much to have this surgery, you need support, not enablers!!! Good for you for calling your surgeon and getting back on track! -
Really sore after surgery

It was around day five for me. Hang in there, it gets better! -
I was banded 9/11 and decided to do weekly weigh-ins and measurements. The measurements are not scientific... I label them boobs, butt, and belly button and try to keep the measuring tape in the widest area. My scale did move this week....UP! I gained two pounds, and I wasn't happy! But my boobs and butt measurements stayed the same and my belly button measurement decreased by three inches! I was so glad I had that little victory bc it made the number on the scale seem a little less frustrating!! So keep track of both, you'll be happy you did!

Saw my surgeon last week and he wants me to progress to normal foods. He didn't have to tell me twice! So, I packed up my family and we went to my favorite pizza place. They all shared a pizza....I had one slice of thin crust veggie pizza. ONE SLICE, not four. And I was satisfied. I chewed it to oblivion and ate super slowly. But the fact that I was able to sit there and eat a single slice and be completely fine with is was amazing to me. It was also my first real "this really ISNT a diet" moment! So happy!!!!
