Hi, my name is Jen. I was lucky because my insurance wanted a 5 yr weight history. My dr office didn't have any diet records and neither did I. Thankfully my dr just wrote a letter and that was good enough. I also was on diet pills for many yrs. Too many yrs. Not anymore. I also weigh 243. I am only 5'1 so I feel horrible and am in pain every day. All my life I maintained 125-130 lbs. Then 9 yrs ago I started gaining weight due to depression. Then I had my son, that was 30 lbs there. The icing on the cake was I quit smoking and that put on 40 lbs! My small frame can't handle this weight. I just went for my last visit. Got my 2 week supply of shakes. I start those on the 10 th then surgery on the 25th! I am pretty nervous. I feel like I will die from hunger on the pre op diet but I HAVE to lose the weight. Good luck to you and I hope you find something out soon! Oh, and I called the insurance all the time too, LOL I only had to wait a week though

I just went to My pre op appt today. It was pretty quick. Got weighed again. Saw dr and he went over some last min things. Signed papers. Got more informational papers. Gave me my rx's for after the surgery. Then got My 2 week supply of shakes. They also scheduled my pre admission testing at the hospital. I have 5 more days till I start pre op diet! Surgery is 10/25

I went to Gnc today looking for some samples of shakes. There are so many out there! There was only a few in small packs. One is 100 calories, 20 protein and 2 grams fat. The other I think is a little higher in calories. I plan on going to A small shop a friend went to. She got more sample packs to choose from. So, my question is as long as I don't go too high in calories and fat and protein is high I can pick any one I like? Thanks in advance!

Ok, so I have a heating pad, pillow for my stomach, gas x, chewable vitamins, ? Then for post op I have Sf pudding and jello, need to get broth, food scale, measuring cups, need to get a good protein shake still. I feel like I am missing stuff. Ok, What am I missing? LOL

I love kettlecorn popcorn! I just bought A bag and you Can have 2 cups and 130 calories. After you are on solids for a while can you eat popcorn? Will it get stuck?

I don't have a stick blender but i have a magic bullet. I do still need to get broths.That's a great idea about the coffee cup! Great idea's thank you!

It does make me thirsty but i would just drink Water. I only bought it b/c i will be starting my pre-op diet in a few wks and i wanted to have it now. Once i get banded i will probably choose a better snack, if i need a snack at all. This will come down the road if i still want to have some. Thanks for your input!

The other day i wrote on myfitnesspal that i was having a horrible day. A friend on there suggested i write down when and how i feel when i turn to the comfort food. So, thinking about it today... I seem to only do it at night. I figured it out! My son is sleeping ( so i don't have the cuddling of him next to me ) and this next one is kinda sad but my hubby and i don't have the best marriage. We will watch tv together or sometimes he just goes to our neighbor's and hangs with them. We never sit on the same couch and cuddle. Sex is a joke and not a good joke either. Funny thing is we don't really fight. He is just not a romantic guy, not into the cuddling stuff and does not know how to communicate. So, at night i have no comfort so i turn to my best friend..FOOD. Not putting blame on him. I am just happy that i kinda figured it out. At least i think i did. I wish i had a better marriage. I miss romance. Hopefully when i get thin things will change. Then again when i met him i was at my thinnest and he was like this, better but still not very romantic. Oh well. Sorry this turned into a sad vent. I just don't really have anyone one else to tell, except my therapist. Ok, i am done, LOL Thanks for listening.

Wow, that quote is so how i feel! Sometimes i can't stand him and sometimes i love him. I haven't felt in love with him in a long time. We have been together for almost 10 yrs and married for almost 5 yrs. We have a almost 3 yr old. I am on disability and only bring in $1,500 a mth and could never support my child and i on my own and my parents live all the way in west virginia. His mom and dad are the same as him. Very closed off from emotional feelings and sweep things under the rug so no feelings have to be talked about. Since i have known him i NEVER seen his parents hug or kiss him or his sister or say I love you. Sometimes i think that if i could finacially support us i would leave. If i didn't have a child and a house with him i would in a heartbeat. We don't even sleep in the same bed. Mainly b/c he snores but i am quite happy to keep it this way. I basically do my own thing and just tell myself that this is how it is. I gave up on believing in romance. That's why this band is so important to me. I want to do something for myself that will make me happy b/c i haven't been happy ( except when it comes to my son ) in a long time.

I also have found that with pre-made drinks. I rather make it myself. I have heard of the ones you mentioned. I didn't know that you can return if you don't like the product. That is great! They seem kinda pricey or is that about what i should expect to pay? A 2 wk bag was $26 Thanks so much for your advice!

Great question! I also needed to know. Can you mix it in yogurt or applesauce? Not sure if you can eat that now. My Dr. told me to cut them in petite sizes. Hope that helps!
