I had a similar experience once and had to get completely unfilled. The doctor told me that I had to heal for a while and not get refilled for a couple of weeks. The acid reflux did go away. It just took a few weeks.

I don't know if I am having a problem or not. Sometimes, not always, I get a pain right under my breast right on top of the band. I have no restriction, I am probably due for a fill. I know I eat way too much because of no restriction and I have only lost 25lbs since my surgery two years ago. The pain comes and goes but it hurts real bad when it is here. Any ideas?:help:

Today I found out that my band had dialation (not sure how to word this) and all my saline had to be removed. I went for a fill in March and told the doctor that I had no restriction and was having lots of GERD especially at night. Some nights I would wake up choking really bad. The doctor at that time, filled me with .2 cc of saline. The GERD got much worse and today the saline was removed. Does anyone know anything about dilation of the lapband? God Bless, Barbara

Paula, the only signs I had was no restriction and the reflux. When I went in March and thought I needed a fill because of no restriction I told the Doc about the reflux. He reviewed films under fluro but made no comments and went on with fill. Apparently, something bothered him because he took my files with him to a conference recently with other surgeons and they reviewed my files and discovered the dialation. Hence, removing all my saline. As I stated, since the removal of the saline, I have not once had reflux, but terrible heartburn!! I did not call doc today because I have not had heartburn today. If I wake up tonight again at around 4 a.m. thinking I am having a heart attack I am going to call doc tomorrow.

I know that since the saline has been removed for two nights I have not once had any reflux. However, I have had severe heartburn. It starts under my chest and goes around my back. Any ideas? I am just excited that I don't have reflux anymore. I have slept more in the last two nights then in 3 months (at least it feels like it) haha. Could the heartburn be from the procedure when they removed the saline. He only used a needle to take it out. Never had heartburn before.

It did. My doctor didn't give me any information really. He just wants me to rest my pouch for six weeks and then see if it will be okay with a refill. He did mention that it would have to be removed if the break period did not work. The doc did not give me any reasons why the pouch dilated.

I am so sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. I have recently started my own business, a paint-it-yourself plastercraft shop and have not had a moment to myself. Dr. Bauman does both lapband and gastric bypass. They do have a support group but I do not go. I would love to talk with Bondgirl. thanks, Barbara Also, I was told today that my band has dilation and he removed .2cc of saline. I go in six weeks for a barrium swallow and at that time he will see if he can put back the saline. So right now, I am flying solo. I had many symptoms but no one was listening.

Hi Everyone, I have posted to this site a couple of times, but I just wanted to thank all of you whom put so much energy into the site. I read the posts daily and have learned a lot from everyone's experiences. My question is on Fitday. When you are inputting your nutritional goals, how do you find how many grams of fat, Protein and so on that you should enter? I don't see my nutritionist for another month. Can anyone help?

Hi everyone, I am new to this site. I was banded on 12/22/03 and I have lost 28lbs so far. I was banded by Dr. Bauman in Concord, NC. I had my first fill on March 6, 2004. My question is, I have not lost any weight in about 4 weeks. I am eating the right foods. I guess I am not exercising the way I should be. I am drinking enough Water. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get motivated again. Also, do we have a page for receipes and snack foods. I love everyones input and look forward to hearing from you. Barbara

About 2 weeks ago I started having lots of pain and vomiting while eating solid foods. At first I thought I was taking too big of bites or eating too fast. I have finally come to realize something is not right. Doc is sending me for Upper GI. Has anyone had a blockage before and can you tell me more about it. This is the most painful experience. I had the upper GI and they found nothing wrong. I stayed on liquid diet for 3 days and started introducing meats again this week. Everything is working better. I guess I just irritated my stomach and it needed a break. Thanks for asking. Barbara
