Did you have the surgery?
-
For about a month after my surgery, I would wake up about 2AM with pressure in my esophogus area. I would take tums but sitting up was the only thing that would give me relief. Dr. said I was eating too late, but I was eating at 6PM at the latest. Did not make sense to me. It has gone away now. I was concerned that it was heartburn and I did not want to do damage to my esophogus. He said it was just food that was not digested and it was backing up. So, there was no acid involved to cause any damage. If this is happening at night, perhaps eating earlier would help.

Tanomano, I have not gained wt. since my fill, but have not lost any. I, too, have a full appetite, but it has kept me from gaining wt. I am discouraged as well, but I am trusting that when I go back on Tuesday, I will get another fill and I will see some results. The dr. says he wants to go slowly. Logic tells me he wants me to get used to the small restriction rather than going so tight that I have not made any adjustments in eating habits like chewing more before swallowing, and taking smaller bites. If I eat too fast or don't chew well, I do have restriction problems. I assume with the 2nd adjustment, I am going to really see a difference in restriction and these skills are going to be in demand. I have never thrown up but think I would have had I had more fill the first time. I have not lost any weight with the 1st fill, but I have had enough issues that I am learning to avoid the uncomfortable side effects of eating too fast and too much. I think it is common to still be able to eat as you did before with the first fill. Focus on the skills needed when you have more restrictions later. If you don't, I think you will have problems with the 2nd fill. Just my guess and hope!

My port is above my navel. It is deeper under the skin than I originally thought. When I went for my frist fill, I was surprised how deep it was.

I had my first fill a week ago. It is very disappointing. I feel like I can eat just as much as I could before the surgery! I lost weight while I was swollen from the surgery, but have lost none since the swelling went away. So, for over a month, I have not lost a pound. I guess I need to call the Dr. and see about another fill or something. Anyone know anything about this?

I had my 1st fill a week ago and I don't feel a restriction. I have not lost a pound in over a month now. Not sure if this is the way it is supposed to be or not. I have pretty much a full appetitie.

I, too, fear failure on this, but I just keep telling myself that for the first time, I have a tool or buddy that is going to be there every step of the way to help me succeed this time. It won't fail me or let me down. I just need to help it do its job. Before surgery, I kept going back and forth about whether I should do this or not. It seemed so extreme to me. Finally, I figured out that I am not a victim and it is up to me whether I succeed or not. I am the one who is in control of this and my destiny is up to me. Once I figured that out, I felt more at peace about having the surgery. My advice is to not feel like a victim where someone or something else is in control and you are just a puppet. That is definitely not the case. You make the final decisions, not someone or something else!

I am getting some of the same comments. 2 people at the same outing said they were looking at me and something is different. I said it was my new hair style. I am 15 pounds down. Going to buy a new outfit today as I have a funeral to attend and my clothes do not look good. Hope I can find something as I am sorta between sizes. Congratulations on your weight loss.
