  1. I generally drink abt two oz of liquid after meals to wash everything down and rinse my mouth. Is doing this affecting my weight loss?
  2. Besides w the fill. Like with the stitches or prolapse, or stretching out your stomach? I haven't but I did something bad. (like eating a half a frozen pizza. It was cooked, but on the small side.) That day I got a feeling like having a headache in my stomach. I'm worried I messed something up but don't know if I need to call my Dr.
  3. And I have the plication to, so include any complications there. And I was banded 9/17/12.
  4. I'd lovve to hear tips: fills, diet, exercise, protein, calories, getting ur Dr to fill bc There's no restriction, etc.
  5. Abt 15 days post op I ended up having to move. Thee move broke me and I haven't had protein shakes since oct 8. Since I ran out of protein shakes, I have put back on 5 lbs and don't know what to do other than wait til payday. I'm eating as much protein as possible, and using the snacks but I'm not getting 80 grams. I'm only getting 40-60 max. I'm scared of going bavk to the Dr and only have lost 3 lbs in a month! What can I do to start losing weight again????
  6. How many oz does it hold? I'm curious if all drs r the same. My weight loss manual is packed away, but I think mine holds 8 oz bc that's the size of my shakes... Plus my recommended meal is 2-4 oz meat and 1/4 a cup veggies.
  7. Just to confirm, after surgery, ur pouch holds 8 oz, right? (I'd look it up but my weight loss manual is packed.
  8. I know diff drs have diff rules, and I've been allowing myself a few tiny bites of well chewed food and its not hurt physically (honestly I hoping my bowels get regular w soome solid foods). I'm 10 days opst op and supposed to be on liquids only, not even mmushies. I'm sure someone has and still been successful, but did anyone else progress their diet (w/o overeating or eating wrong) and if so how soon? And was it as bad as the drs say it is?
  9. I didn't have prob w gas until post op.
  10. Ur noT doing anything wrong. It takes a week (or at least it did for me) to get used to ur new stomachs operations. I starved for three days before I drank 14 oz and was full and just drank my 8 oz after that 3 times a day and haven't been hungry since. I doubt its a recommended coursebut its what worked for me, and it only took once.

    Ouch...what Did I Do?!

I don't know what happened in ur situation, but I can say the wrong movement can make u sore easily and quickly. Mine wasn't a 47 lb dangling body, but a 38 lb kiddo climbing all over me for an hour and it took 24 hrs and a dilaudid to recover. I say take ur pills and give it a day or so. If it persists call ur drs answering service. Non wl surgeons/nurses r going to be useless bc this is such a specialized surgery/condition: go w the pros.
  12. Had surgery abt 11 days ago, invisions were closed using steristrips. The healing skin is SO itchy and my Dr office is closed. I know neosporin makes an anti itch formula: what were ur directions? Were u allowed to put anything on ur incisions?
  13. Most of these posts have been women catfighting over definitions and who should percieve what. The purpose of this thread is for ppeople to share their REAL LIFE experiences w progressing their post op diet. It is not a recommendation to do so. It is educational for us real life people to see what happens. Thank u posters who have stayed on topic. I have yet to see a real life incident where progressing has gone wrong. Interesting. Ladies please stay on topic per thread and stop these quibbles that I keep seeing more of.
  14. Thought I was fine til I started playing w my 4 year old and my abdomen started hurting in that sore kind of way. I called and asked my Dr if I was stil on the 15 lb restriction, and she said til my 8 week appt! Is my abdomen really going to be this sensitive that long? How long til u could function w/o ANY pain whatsoever?
  15. My tummys always grumbling and I still have diarrhe 10days later? Is this a thing? anyone else suffer? And if so how long til it goes away?
  16. Nutella is the creamy goodness of peanutbutter with the taste of chocolate and hazelnut. SO good.
  17. Aww cmon ppl. It was a specific question, not an invitation to judge me. That's actually AGAINST THE RULES OF THIS WEBSITE. Please stick to the subject. I'm surely not the first. Maybe the bravest tho! (other Dr's diets would have allowed this. Thank u for ur .002 cents worth)(yes that is typed right)
  18. *has me on liquids..... Present tense. Only 10 days post op.
  19. Ty! I know already my Dr would berate me so I'm not telling. And my regularity issues go the other way! But I've honestly seen some improvement, be it time of solid foods, so I'm >< <--- that much closer to comfortable. Didn't need the pain pills after 4 days post op (or so). My Dr had me on liquids for two weeks, mushies for three weeks, then solids. Its absurd if the rule is liquid in liquid out!
  20. Banded ith plication sept 17! Down 13 lbs from 6 days preop til now, 10 days later. Feel full most of the time. But I can eat 8 oz. /three x a day No more tho, so I must be doing it right!
  21. Ok, forgot to tell in the last posts, but DON'T let him make u do the sleep study. Oklahoma sleep institute is a scam. The nurses at Dr keiths will tell u everyone has to do it, but that's not true, I've heard ppl talking and a nurse said not everyone has to do it. My ins didn't require it. I reckon its when u fill out the sleep questionairre in office: lie unless u know u have bad sleep apnea. The scam is no matter how long u have the machine, they're gonna bill u AND ur insurance full price. I got mine just so I could have surgery and have had it less than two weeks.

I Want To Get A Fill Now!

I was banded 9/17 and felt restricted for about 24 hours. I hvae my post op appt 9/27 and am going to ask for a fill bc I am so HUNGRY. All the time. Real hunger. Hope my Dr fills me tho I doubt he will bc the steristrips haven't even fallen off...
  23. Getting banded with plication on the 17th. Finished reading all the surgery stories, now I need to hear success stories and I'd like to know ur exercise regimen bc I have constant lower back pain and am afraid I won't be able to do enough rigorous activity to shed the pounds I want to lose.
  24. I can eat more than 8 oz before I'm full. Moved to full liquids and can now have my Meal Replacements, but I'm still hungry. My dr doesn't fill any during surgery. I wonder how big my tummy is?! I am just SO hungry, I could eat somebodys arm! I think this is what bandster hell is.
  25. K u all for the words of encouragement! My Tummy is still trying to figure out how to handle my meal replacements, and I can't imagine the repercussions of eating real food.
