im 27 with 2 small children. I was banded dec 7th 2012 id be happy to chat with you

so im 11 days post op and i lost 28lbs pre op. with the liquid diet ect for two weeks. since surgery i have gained 1lb. I feel like i am making good food choices. i stop eating when i am satisifed. im drinking over a gallon of water a day. i walked or bike 2miles a day. if not everyday every other day. My doctor expects me to lose 10 to 16lbs by the time i go back for my first appointment in january on the 14th. I am so concerned i wont make his goal that im considering this lapband thing was a joke. I eat protien. I havent had any carbs. i eat fish and fresh veg. I exercise. He has me going off of a 30g of carbs a day diet. i chew my food. i dont cook in fat. i dont eat out. i jsut dont get it!!! why did i put myself and my family through this much pain and aggervation to be the same!!!! so frustrating!

yes my post op was 3days of clears. 5days of mushies. then start whole foods.

im having alot of pain on my port side. it burns alot and i can hardly move by the end of the day .by day 2 i was on no pain medicine. but on day 8 all of this pain began. im taking the pain medicine every 4 to 5hours like clock work. my doctor recommeded i take Childrens Motrin. but she said take 200ml. 200ml is like 6.7oz! thats more then half a cup. childrens motrin isnt cheap and id msaybe get 2 doses a bottle. any other suggestions? can they cann it in as a prescripton so i can get a big bottle like i do my liquid pain medicine?

i have doctor baptista which is off of baymeadows. i had surgery at memorial lol i live in saint marys ga tho....just exit 1 across the ga/fla line.

your a sweetie jeresyshorediva. i hope it goes away soon too. im still excersising im not letting it stop me i walk thru the pain. i dont think id mind the pain so much if i was losing. and im not losing. so i feel like im going thru pain for nothing. its very hard to see the light right now

i called and found a binder i can wear. to help with the ambilical hernia...hopefully that wll help with the port pain also. i gotta do something

even the generic version id only get like 2 doses a bottle. i just dont know. i have a 3yr old and a 8month old who is just leearning to crawl. so me relaxing not bending or stooping is pretty much impossible! sigh

yes to 1/2 a cup per meal is what i was told to expect.

i was banded the 7th and i too feel like i could eat whatever.... im making bettr choices on food. and imwatching my portion but sometimes when i look back i feel like i still had more then my 1/2 that im allowed. but never felt "full"

im 9 days post op and my side is so sore and feels like it burns. i dont have a port incision its under my skin about 5in from my belly button. i cant move without pain and imi not losing so all this pain and aggervation is not even paying off!

i had am umbilical hernia repair during surgery and i was done with only 2 incisions. one in my belly button and one up high just between my breasts to hold my liver during surgery. i am pretty active, im a stay at home mom. i have a 3 and a half yr old and a 8month old. im not sure if it was the laundry or the cleaning up the toys or picking up the baby but i have a horrible burning pain about 3 fingertips to the left of my bellybutton. its random and almost reminds me of a phantom pain like after a c-section. but burns! i took tylonel but no relief. i finally called the doctor around 7 , which i hated to do but i couldnt stand it anymore. he says he thinks i was doing to much and tore the area near my port. i dnt even know where my port is yet! but goodgollymissmolly this is painful. he said for me to take ibrprofin 400mg every six hours with a meal. anybody else have this issue? pain near the port?

a week ago today..... the ibprofin seems to of helped but tasted sooo horrible!

i was also banded on the 7th....i wasnt given a number to follow for protien. just carbs. but to make sure i ate protien in every meal. and to drink plenty of fluids. i start mushies tomorrow. i pureed some fresh veg in chicken stock with a lil white pepper. i have those set in bowls for snacks or what not. good luck dear

pre op was a breeze for me. 3 days of clears....the post op was 3 more days of clears. the 4 days of protien shakes. id love to eat something crunchy right now!!

i have anthem bcbs of ga... we used up our fsa by mid year ( yah didnt except so much sickies woops ) but i picked a surgeon i wanted. his program fee was 200. i paid the hospital 100 down and im getting billed the rest. a grand total of $3606.88....thats including my 400 dollar deductible. my process started october 10th....surgery was Dec 7th. hope this helped...

im 5days post op, and i still have bandages on my incisions and i tore the cover off the top one but manged to thin it back out and tape it down ( its like clear wrap on it ) but that one and my belly button incision are itchying like crazy!!!! im itching in my sleep! i cut my nails down but o m g this is ridiculous.

i go for my week postop tomorrow. i am afraid i have only lost 3lbs in a week so im not so pleased im so happy it is working for you. im itchin to start excersising.

mine was the 7th And i went home the same day. gas x works great. im off all pain meds and only taking liquid tylonel now. cant wait to see your progress!!!

i was given paper work to follow each time i have a fill as far as a diet goes. but as for surgery im on day 4 and no phone call. he did give me his personal cell phone number if i needed him day or night. say i called the office and was given the "please hold or he will call u back" hmm nope call the cell. although ive been blessed with no issues. i go back on thrusday ( surgery was friday ) and i see him. but my neighbor who was banded the same day but different doc and hospital, doesnt go back until 4 weeks. good luck dear

i have a 3.5yr old and a 7month old. my oldest asked me why i keep seeing a doctor. i said "becuz mommy wants to be small, just like you and sissy!" she said "oh" and more to it. thankfully my husband is home all week so he can handle the two of them esp since i cant lift the baby.

i was banded the 7th also. im having gas pains but nothing gas x isnt helping. im treating pain with liquid tylonel. and walking every hour . i went to church this morning and then to walmart. WAY OVER did it. i came home and slept for 4 hours lol. the tube may of irritated your throat. try to gargle some salt water it may help.
