frustrated (NEED SUGGESTION) Help!
Vicki Loichinger replied to tink65's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tink, try to order some that are single serving size. At BJs Bariatrics.com you can order every flavor of the nectars as a single pack so you can try them before you commit to that big tub. VItamin Shoppe has some of the single serving sizes if you have one of those near you or online. Unjury.com sales single serving sizes to try. Hope this helps. I have wasted plenty buying whole tubs of stuff that I couldn't stand. These two brands I never have a problem with my favorite on the nectar is the fuzzy navel -

Lapband removal/bypass insurance approval
Vicki Loichinger replied to amvg85's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be thinking of you and sending prayers your way. you will do fine. Sip Sip SIp, Walk Walk Walk and Rest Rest Rest use the pain meds to stay ahead of the pain. My pain was manageable and I had the band removed the bypass done and then a gyno came in and removed an ovary cyst and a mass. All lapascropic. I was kinda afraid I would wake up with a long incision. Or worse the band gone and nothing else done, but it all worked out. I am almost six weeks out., I see the surgeon tomorrow, I think he will be pleased with how I am doing, Sending you hugs and positive thoughts -

emotional mess
Vicki Loichinger replied to laurelle1980's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have read here about a lot of people going through this around this time. I don't cry, wish I did, but I do get very easily depressed and unmotivated and withdrawn (even a little worse then before surgery) and this really bothers me because I know I should be happier and feel better. But i just get so blue and so numb and it is just yuck. So no you aren't crazy or anything, Our hormones are taking a beating right now and all the junk that is purging from the rapid weight loss really messes with things. Have a good cry and try to tell yourself and those around you this is just a temporary part of it and you will have ups and downs but it will level out eventually. And it will everyday will get better. And then out of no where you may have an emotional day. But it will get better. I probably haven't helped much, but you are not alone. -
Band to Bypass Scheduled for 1/14
Vicki Loichinger replied to tzbandtobypass's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
wishing you guys the very best this week. I am almost six weeks out from having band removed and bypass done, all has gone well, and just to add a little more drama to the surgery i had an ovary cyst and mass removed at the same time. So I hope you can get the band out and the bypass done same time. But if you need to heal you need to heal, but it would be a bummer. I will be thinking of you and sending prayers your way. -

How many times?
Vicki Loichinger replied to OleHippieGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
some days are more than others, when i notice it isn't very often I up the fluids, I know if I am peeing that I am hydrated. I think my number one goal from the beginning was not to get dehydrated. Still is. That scares me. SO drink drink drink -
What to bring to the hospital?
Vicki Loichinger replied to al70switz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
all the above advice is spot on, less is more in this instance. I hardly used anything out of my bag. Wore the same clothes home i wore there, had my phone and charger, had my laptop but never got it out (and that is unbelievable) wore their gowns, i took some pj bottoms, but didn't use them. the more you pack and take the more you have to bring home and put away. Seems crazy I know, but you just sleep, walk and sip and don't feel like doing much else. I hardly even turned the tv on. -
My date got moved up!
Vicki Loichinger replied to kat77's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am glad your doc is having you be so prepared. That is awesome. Another thing doing those things is a great way to help you feel like you are getting ready for something big (cause you are) and it forces you to slow down a bit and think about yourself, using the special soap and the mouthwash, get the vitamins, gives you the feeling like you are a part of this pre op and doing everything you can to be successful. I think it is great. -
I PROMISE U I'M NOT CRAZY! AT LEAST THATS WHAT THE VOICES IN MY HEAD TELL ME! (its a joke lol)
Vicki Loichinger replied to CHOSEN72's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Your title to the thread reminds me of on the tv show "BIG BANG THEORY" when they accuse Sheldon of being crazy and he says "no I am not, my mom had me tested" you will do fine. -
23 days post op! Food options! Help!
Vicki Loichinger replied to Bward's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nicole you are doing awesome on those food choices, I still find most days (surgery 12/5) I depend on Protein shakes for the bulk of my nourishment. Nothing is appealing. I have done the wendy's chilie twice, but i but it through the blender and added some unjury cheese protein and a dollop of fat free sour cream. it was really good, went down, stayed down, no pain. Also refried beans awesome. I love mashed potatoes but I know i need to stay away from the carbs. So mostly i just drink and drink and drink. -
