Revision From Band To Rny And Why.
Vicki Loichinger replied to Vicki Loichinger's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Seems the insurance company wants more medical reasons for the revision. My silly husband just said, drink a carbonated beverage and cause it kick up a fuss. But he has no idea how much pain would be involved. This road may be even longer to hoe then i expected. Not giving up. -
big smiles for you. I know right now you are doing a happy dance. so happy for you

Tmi, But Hoping Some One Can Help !
Vicki Loichinger replied to irshangel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This sounds like what i went through in the middle of the night. Keep in mind I am have not had surgery yet. But I am diabetic, Woke up at 3 in the morning sweating profusely couldn't lift myself out of bed, woke hubby had him get my glucose meter. my blood sugar was 56, my husband poured orange juice down my throat, came up to 69 then he fed me some ice ceam then it was 114. When i got up this morning it was 297. I felt the dirahea and nauseu this morning and feel like I have been ran over by a truck. So your symptoms do sound like low blood sugar. After surgery I have been wondering will treating a low blood sugar cause me to dump and then the process of yuck start all over. -

Is The Lap Band Just Sticking Your Toe In The Water?
Vicki Loichinger replied to 120darby's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I was banded seven years ago. And yes that is what it is like, "sticking your toe in the water" I was afraid of doing anything more invasive or "drastic" as I thought at the time. But I should have went the rny route then and saved myself seven years of up and down weight, still all the comorbities I had and all worse now. I don't have any horror story to say about the band, but it just was either too tight, too loose, and between me and it we just didn't do what we should do. I have lost and gained the same 30 to 40 pounds, and now at my heaviest and sickest. I am waiting for insurance approval to revise from the band to rny. Again, I could have been living life and enjoying health benefits if I had just "jumped all the way in" I hope you have that option. -
Hope today is better than yesterday. You will get there. be kind to yourself and let your body heal.. stay hydrated, sip sip sip, walk walk walk and then rest. Everyday will be better and then one day you will think what the heck i felt so much better yesterday and have a kinda yuck day, and the next you will start feeling better again. It is kinda this way with any surgery and you have just had some major surgery. Sending you positive thoughts and prayers for healing.

Yogurt With 2X Protein
Vicki Loichinger replied to mary2008's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I believe it has 7 gr of sugar. Is this too much. For lunch I had one of these with a tablespoon of sugar free fat free vanilla pudding powder and it was soooooo good. I am pre op, nursing a pulled tooth. But I wondered if that is too much sugar for post op. just checked to box 80 calories 0 fat 9 carbs 7 g sugar and 12g of protein this was the vanilla 5.3 ounces -

the yogurt i have been eating pre op (and due to an abscessed tooth which was pulled today) is called carb master. it is only available at Krogers or maybe Ralphs if you have one of those. Low fat, low carb, low sugar I have been adding about a teaspoon and a half of sugar free pudding mix and a scoop of unflavored protein powder and eating this two or three times a day. Good source of protein and feels like you are eating some pretty fancy desert. not horribly sweet though. I will probably hate it after surgery, but right now it is my best friend. Especially with this tooth problem. You could probably do the same with the greek yogurt to tame some of the tartness,
