I think that is awesome. And of course it is not to late., Anything you can do to get your body ready for surgery is a plus. Walking each day may very well be the best thing you can do. Way to go I have been trying to take vitamins and supplements and move more even if just here in the house and doing some exercises in my chair. I want to be as healthy as this unhealthy body can be when I am finally approved and have the surgery. I want that for you too.

Expected Weight Loss
Vicki Loichinger replied to lester's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
lester losing i such an individual thing. Good thing men seem to lose faster than woman. But you will lose more in the beginning and then a bit slower but as long as you follow the rules and get some exercise in you will lose. I could venture to guess that you will have that 88 pounds gone in the first year. Just a guess. -

80 Pounds Down
Vicki Loichinger replied to ms.pinup85's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You look marvelous, really, you are a very beautiful lady. I bet you are getting compliments all over the place, doesn't it feel good. Keep up the good work. 80 pounds that is like losing a whole person maybe a grade school person but a person no less. -
Great on the weight loss already. You are getting mentally prepared maybe. Your mind is connecting to this new lifestyle you have chosen and you are wanting to make good choices. I have lost 15 pounds since I started seeking the revision from band to rny, because I am thinking about it and conscious of it everyday and starting to think more about eating for nutrition instead of for fun, And I know the more I loss the better I will do during the surgery and healing process.

Vicki Loichinger replied to Malvord197's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do this for you and for your kids and hope she sticks with you. 14 years is a long friendship. There may be bumps coming up but I pray it works out for both of you as we always needs friends. You being aware of what she is probably feeling even if she is not aware of it herself will help you.. -
Feeling Much Better
Vicki Loichinger replied to Joe.s's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
So glad you are feeling better. Sorry you had to go through so much. And some people have the nerve to say this is "the easy way" Nothing easy about WLS from trying to get it approved to having the surgery and changing your life style completely. Wishing you strength and healing today. Hugs -
Keep in mind I am pre op, but do have a band. I go through times when I remember and drink it in my coffee every morning. Everyone is correct it isn't quick but if you use it daily it can help you be pretty regular. But I was wondering myself if after rny we could use it. I don't notice it in my coffee at all. reminds me think I need to go add some, been having some trouble myself lately. Lol Years ago when you would hear ADULTS talk about their bowel movements or lack there of, I thought that was the strangest thing, don't think it is strange now. A person has to poop just has to.

Taking Pills
Vicki Loichinger replied to 2fat42long's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
chewable and liquids will be your friends. Any capsule that can be opened and put in a small amount of liquid works too. you just need to check with pharmacist if this can be done. When I get antibiotics I always ask for liquid. liquid Tylenol for a headache or buy jr strength chewable (watch the sugar) when I have a bad cold I drink Robitussin liquid to keep chest loose. There are ways to keep from having to swallow those horse pills and risk getting them stuck. -
lol maybe you will start a trend

Medical Records....
Vicki Loichinger replied to hajones5891's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It just doesn't have to be so hard. I wonder if it is a power thing or what. Who do they think they are working for anyway. I don't get it. So frustrating. -
Not Losing Weight :(
Vicki Loichinger replied to jeanetteramirez2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you are doing great. but think of it another way, ask yourself some questions: Do i Have more energy? Do I feel better? Has any medical condition you may have had started to improve? Are your clothes fitting a little looser? Then pat yourself on the back and keep on doing what you are doing, It will work. -
3 Days Post Op- So Painful
Vicki Loichinger replied to mizzlaw's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Very Fist Appointment!
Vicki Loichinger replied to dmkar's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome and good luck and you might want to try writing everything down that you are eating. This is most likely one thing the nutritionist will have you do after you meet with them. And you will be a step ahead getting into the habit of writing things down. And it really comes to the front of your mind when you actually write it down. I have lost 15 pounds pre op just by feeling more accountable to what I was eating. Hope this helps. -
I feel overwhelmed somedays just thinking about post op., seems so many things to get in in a day and take care of other things, One step at a time. However you do it, this is important for you to do for you, Make that time and other things will fall into place. Just break it down into smaller steps. And don't be hard on yourself. Some things won't get done, but that is ok. But you come first. Please remember that. Because when you are healthy it will benefit everyone and everything in your life.
