Surgery Date 10/19
Vicki Loichinger replied to Regina1983's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Welcome and yes I think it is very normal to feel every emotion there is. Just stay busy and don't drive yourself nuts. Pamper yourself a bit if you can, maybe go get a pedicure. Finish up a craft project. Something to make the time go by and that brings you joy. Will be thinking of you and praying for you both for a safe and successful surgery and a speedy recovery. -

I think it is even more frustrating for you because you have the fear of loss of insurance to deal with. You have a lot on your plate right now and it would be very nice for you to have somebody do their job and get things going for you. Praying for you. -

I too have a very addictive personality. But lately feeling so poorly and having such a hard time with asthma and diabetes I have lost interest in most everything. I am hoping post op I will feel better and pick up some old interests that were addictive like decorative painting and reading. Right now my addiction is this board and my obsession is waiting for the call that I am approved for surgery a revision from lap band to rny. . Also hope exercise will become one. But really hoping bad ones do not, It is something we all need to be aware of.

Surgery Tommorrow
Vicki Loichinger replied to Malvord197's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
poohing is important and I know you will feel so much better when you can go, I hope they can give you something, -
I am sure you will be able to have it post op, but how soon after will depend on your Doc, I have been having some great treats mixing yogurt with different flavors of sugar free pudding and unflavored protein (I am pre op) and I really like it and hoping my taste buds don't change to much after surgery. I think mixing the protein powder in the yogurt could make it easier for those that have a hard time getting shakes down.

Are Popcorn And Corn A No No?
Vicki Loichinger replied to cmarie317's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After lap band seven years ago, it was no corn and no popcorn. Corn would actually get stuck and had to come back up. I choke real easy and have nearly died on popcorn so I don't eat it, although I love it. So I would be safer rather than sorry by avoiding corn and popcorn for all of us, Just not worth the chance. -

How Long Did You Take Off From Work ?
Vicki Loichinger replied to destineex33's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
IF you can afford to take the six weeks and your job will be ok with it, take it. You will have so much more energy and strength and a good routine down with food and supplements. Just be sure to be active when you should. Or possibly if you are feeling wonderful wonderful wonderful, and your job and doc would allow try going back half days or shorter week, week five and six, ease back into it so to speak. -
