Surgey postponed
Vicki Loichinger replied to formyboyscabnmac's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
wishing you the best. I didn't have your problem, but I was in pre op on the table ready to be wheeled to the operating room when the surgeon came in and said my blood sugars were to high he couldn't operate on me that day, and postponed it a month. I was devastated. I felt like someone had kicked me in the gut. I begged him to go ahead but he said he was afraid of me not healing with my numbers so high. So home I went so disappointed. But a few days later a horrible pain came on me in my stomach and back, after several tests they found a cyst and a mass on my ovary. I had to scurry and find a gyno to say I could have surgery. I saw the gyno on Tuesday at 11 surgery was to be at 10 on Wed. Gyno said yes and that the ovary ect. could be taken out during surgery. And it was. So I know this may not help you but things do happen for a reason. If that pain had come after surgery I would have for sure thought it was RNY related. So take the supplements and use this time for you, try some protein shakes to see what you might like. Practice sipping, and chewing chewing chewing. Finsih up some projects that you have started. Whatever makes the time go by and you feel better. It will all work out. I am living proof. Big Hugs. -

praying for you so much. Dear God we ask that you put your healing hand on our dear friend. Please let the work the doctors are doing bring her to good health. Please give her strength and comfort and healing. In Jesus name we pray, AMEN -
also one other thought, do/did you have high blood pressure and are you on BP meds? could be low blood pressure. Please call doc if it continues.

kinda scary, hope somebody has some insight. Call your doc tomorrow just to let them know. First thing I bet they ask you is if you are getting enough fluids. Could you be dehydrated?

around two weeks or so. depends on if they come back asking for some clarification or something. but probably about two weeks. but don't freak out if it is a little longer, they do things in their TIME, which seems a lot different then ours, lol. Waiting is the hardest part. Wishing you the best

What's the latest you eat?
Vicki Loichinger replied to 4SFLFDS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yes usually before bed i either drink a protein shake or have some greek yogurt with protein powder and sugar free pudding mix. It sure beats the bag of cheetos i would have ate a year ago, lol -
My new thing has been the dannon light and fit Greek in vanilla and I add some sugar free fat free pudding powder and some vanilla unjury. Awesome. This has been my last meal of the day or before bed. No real food sounds good, but this has been great.

Question about cold meds
Vicki Loichinger replied to thrisha.hamilton's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
well i am not sure about the cold medicines but the ambien is sure different after surgery, I go to sleep much faster with it, but don't sleeep more than about five hours, it is like it is gone gone and there is no getting back to sleep. I have to think that the surgery effects other meds too. -
What day of the week was your surgery?
Vicki Loichinger replied to agirlofaith's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery on Wednesday (Ithink my Doc just does a lot of them then) and I was in the hospital till Sunday. Probably could have went home saturday but if they weren't kicking me out I was staying. Most of that week I didn't do much except walk inside the house, drink drink drink took pain meds for a few days, slept, just kinda chilled out. I really didn't need anyone to care for me in particular but they had better be taking care of themselves, lol, mine are much older and do more for me then I do for them, I didn't drive till about two weeks out. So please make a back up plan. Just so it will be in place if you need it. And take this time for you if you can. You are going to be going through some crazy changes with eating drinking and emotions. Maybe you can trade off with another mom for later down the road to help them out if they can help you out now or something. I know it is hard to get all the ducks in a row and ask for help, but believe me, most people would love to help, so ask and let them. Wishing you the very best. -

thanks so much for sharing, these are things we newbies need to be aware of. Anybody that says this is the easy way out has lost their minds, it is constant work to keep doing the right thing for our bodies. The surgery is just a tool. But thank goodness you still have the tool and the knowledge to get back on track and get to where you need to be. Sending you best wishes. Again thank you for telling us how it can be.
