Just Want To Feel Better
Vicki Loichinger replied to Uniqueladybug's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So sorry you are still feeling so yuck. Can you eat yogurt? If so try adding your protein powder to the yogurt and blend it, eating it rather than drinking the shake might sit better on your stomach, You still have to somehow get the fluids in too. Saying a prayer for you right now and hoping things improve quickly, -

Frustrated 9Weeks Out
Vicki Loichinger replied to thenewme2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
awesome loss and it is ok to have a down day, but pick yourself up, pat yourself on the back, cause you have done great and carry on. We didn't gain this weight overnight (although sometimes it feels like we did) and we won't lose it overnight either. -
I am going to be thinking and sending you all positive thoughts and saying prayers for all of you tomorrow. Best Wishes to all of those having surgery this week.
-
welcome and take each day one at a time. And yes keep your eye on the prize. Gentle hugs to you and Best Wishes.

Lots of surgeries this week. I will be thinking of you all and praying for a safe surgery and quick recovery. Please let us know when you can how you are doing,

Insurance Approval For Revision
Vicki Loichinger replied to Myskinnydreams0605's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I too had anthem BCBS and I was approved on Friday. The approval process took about three weeks and they did ask for some more paperwork in the middle. But really I think it went very well. And if all the info from all my docs had been sent in the first time it would have been even faster. So hopefully tomorrow I will get a surgery date I have had my lap band for seven years and revising to the RNY. I have no horror stories about my lap band it just didn't help me lose all the weight I needed and even when losing weight the diabetes and asthma did not improve. I am kinda putting all my eggs in the RNY basket and hoping I am one of the 80% that the RNY drastically changes the diabetes. Wishing you the very best. -
a definite on crystal light. I have been drinking it daily since banding seven years ago, I just can't stand plain water. If you like cottage cheese, maybe adding some unflavored protein powder would kick it up a notch as far as protein goes. more bang for your buck. Unjury makes a good one, you order it online. Snythrax also has a medical unflavored that I put in everything and can't taste it at all. As far as the yogurt goes, I have been getting the carb master from kroger, or maybe ralphs in your area, and I get the vanilla and add about a tablespoon of sugar free pudding mix, like banana or my favorite right now is pistachio, and a scoop of the unflavored protein powder stir it up or blend it a blender and it is so yummy. Now I am saying this as a pre op. I may be eating these words after RNY surgery. But I hope it works for you. Wishing you all the best,

Not That Im Crazy Or Anything But....
Vicki Loichinger replied to CHOSEN72's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
besides talking to the Psych person you will take a large test, Just answer the questions truthfully but be careful seems they throw a couple in that are kinda trick questions so read them carefully and answer with your best answer and you should be fine. -

Waiting And Excited
Vicki Loichinger replied to aufan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome I just got the insurance call with approval yesterday. I know how excited you are. I don't have a date yet, that call will probably come Monday. We should be having surgery close to the same time. You will find a wealth of support and information here. Again Welcome and wishing you the very best -
thanks for sharing. sending you big hugs and yes it is time for you. Things are going to get better and better, because you are going to feel healthier and happier. It isn't going to be easy, but I think you more than a lot know what hard can be, so you will be fine. We are in this together and I will be with you in thought daily. Just can't thank you enough for being so honest about your life. Wishing you so much goodness.

I feel a sense of calm today after getting the approval call yesterday. I am sure i will go through a million different feelings by the time day of surgery comes. But right now I feel calm and hopeful. Wishing you the very best, I mean that with all my heart.

Star please don't be discouraged. Your body is just adjusting to the changes and where you may not have lost in weight you have probably gained in muscle. Just keep doing what you are doing and the scale will move. It isn't going to happen over night. And you are going to have days and maybe even weeks where the scale doesn't move, them boom, it will drop five pounds. But each day that you exercise, hydrate, eat healthy, get your protein in you will feel stronger, healthier and the loss will come. If you can don't weight yourself for a few days and just do what you are doing and don't let the scale be your slave. You can do this and you will be glad you did. Big Hugs to you.

1St Round Of Appts. Check!
Vicki Loichinger replied to A Rose's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is a lot but it feels so good to check some of these apts off your list. And you are getting a really good check up during the process. Waiting is hard. But it is easier when you feel like you are actually doing something to help the process, like the apts, the nutritionist, and losing a few pounds. You are doing great and everything will fall into place. Big Hugs to you. -
it does sound like some hormones went a little crazy on you. And doesn't seem to be anything you can do but wait it out. But of course if it keeps happening talk to your doc, maybe even your PCP they may need to check some hormone levels and see what is going on, Hope you feel better and have a great weekend.

thank you everyone, sorta pinching myself today to make sure that it wasn't a dream about the call yesterday. I am pretty calm really. It's like ok, approval down, what is next, let's get this show on the road. But at least now I know the show is going on and that helps a bunch. lol
