Insurance Cost
Vicki Loichinger replied to dfwtxfemme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I understand your question, don't have an answer but I do know what you are wondering. I am pre op, but if someone who has had the surgery recently and has their bill they could probably read what was charged and what was actually accepted as payment from the insurance company. I would only think it fair that you get a break as a cash pay patient, but I guess that is my pie in the sky thinking. -
Insurance Approval For Revision
Vicki Loichinger replied to Myskinnydreams0605's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I am having my band removed at the same time as RNY on Nov 7. I supposed something could be going on in the band area that I am not aware of and during the surgery the band needing to come off and healing and then RNY I sure hope not. Some people have had to have two surgeries. But i think that is when they have had issues with the band slipping, erroding, or a prolapse. Wishing you the very best. I hope the RNY helps both our health issues. -
Do I Deserve A Second Chance At This
Vicki Loichinger replied to adoptmom2_3's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
This is my exact story, The band did not help with any of my medical issues, Even after losing 30 pounds Still needed so much insulin and the weight would just come back on and bring a few friends. I am putting all my eggs in this RNY basket and praying that this surgery will help me with the diabetes and asthma and several other health issues. Even pre op I have lost 15 pounds and this morning my blood sugar was 300. So I take a shot and hope it goes down. But take a shot and my body rebels in painful ways. It is a mess. Just so tired of being sick and tired. -
Big Prayers Needed From My Rny Family
Vicki Loichinger replied to cjoyce's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hoping the morning has brought good news. Praying for you both. It is hard to imagine what each of you are going through. I pray healing begins and the pain lessens for him. I pray for his sight, for his breathing and every other thing that God knows he needs right now. I hope you can feel the arms of God wrapped around you both right now, -

You were so strong and so right. We aren't dogs and we don't need food or treats as a reward. You deserve a huge pat on the back. And it was just a trail run for post op because these same times are going to come up down the road. And you know you are strong enough. I am so proud of you. Big Big Smile. Big Hugs too.

Do I Deserve A Second Chance At This
Vicki Loichinger replied to adoptmom2_3's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
first of all YES you deserve this. I was approved for revision and will be having my lap band removed and rny on Nov. 7. I like you can't say anything bad about the band. I just would lose and gain the same 30 pounds or so and none of my health problems, like diabetes (type 2 insulin dependent/resistant) asthma, sleep apnea, pain from the inuslin, high blood pressure were resolved. I need the RNY to hopefully help correct some of these things that it seems only this surgery can do, So Yes you deserve it. If one treatment for an illness didn't work wouldn't you deserve another treatment. I know it doesn't seem to be quite the same thing, but really it is. But we do have to do our part too. I am not saying the lap band failed me as much as I am saying that between it and me we didn't get done what needed done, I pray for both of us that the RNY will be the answer. And that we will be wiser and more successful But again YES you DESERVE this. Big Hugs. -

Sending you healing thoughts and prayers. Hope you feel better at home and that you will gain strength each day. Gentle Hugs. -
Just keep drinking your fluids and getting that protein in, Your body is adjusting. Your clothes probably feel a bit looser, you probably have more energy. There is more to this new you then just pounds, It can be measured in so many ways. Our bodies have to adjust. Don't be a slave to the scale, don't it dictate your moods. You know you are doing the right things and the weight will come off. Sending you best wishes and a big hug.

Some Posts Scare Me I Am Pre Surgery But I Know They Are Real
Vicki Loichinger replied to dfwtxfemme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My new Mantra is going to be NOTHING can taste as good as FEELING better will feel. I am just so sick and tired of being sick and tired, I would have the surgery this afternoon with just the hope of feeling better. November 7 can't come soon enough. I know it isn't going to be easy, I know there will be pain. But I have pain now and living like I am isn't easy so that is what I am dwelling on. HOPE is a marvelous feeling. -
I have had surgery's before and I am thinkin this to be similar to baby blues, mom's you know what I mean. I think it is a lot to do with anesthesia, pain, hormones, and just plain feeling like you been put through the mill. Be kind to yourself and make sure you stay hydrated and start getting that protein in when you are allowed and you will feel better, It will just take a bit of time for your body to adjust.
