I Have A Problem...
Vicki Loichinger replied to Kerrie-Ann's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was thinking like Music, it may be time to see if you can find a different doctor for after care. You shouldn't be afraid or uncomfortable to call them or anyone in their office. Think of it this way, if you moved out of state you would need to find a new doctor why can't you just find someone you can trust and depend on and feel comfortable with locally. Your health both emotionally and psychically is too important to have to hesitate for a second to contact your docs office when something doesn't seem right. -
sip sip sip like BB said. Also sugar free Popsicles might help. ice chips , just keep the small amounts of liquids going in all the time. If cold doesn't feel good try something warm, like fat free broth, or if warm doesn't feel good do the Popsicles or ice chips. Maybe even room temp water will be easy to sip on. No matter what you have to get it in. Wishing you the best,

Surgery Date Has Arrived
Vicki Loichinger replied to tmorgan's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
saying a prayer for you. I know you will do well. I will be looking forward to hearing how you are doing as soon as you are up to it. Just know that we are all thinking of you and sending you the best wishes. Gentle Hugs. -
And when we are reading these labels, remember to check the servings and the serving sizes. This will effect how much sugar fat and carbs we are actually getting too. I think tomato soup would be good.

Ava, I agree with dorky and 2nd you need to be kind to yourself and find a support group and also see if your Surgeons office has a therapist. You CAN do this, but not on your own. You need to do this for your son. Wishing you the very best. We are all here for you. If you need to send a private message do so, if you even need to talk on the phone let me know. I am pre op too. And it is hard but we can do this.

Caffeine & Carbonation?
Vicki Loichinger replied to tstevens28's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
what i know about the carbonation is it can stretch your pouch but also it is painful. I have a lap band going to revise to rny Nov 7. I have not had soda in seven years. THe couple of times that someone wanted me to taste a new one, one sip and it is very painful, at least with the band. I would imagine the same with our pouch. THe caffeine is a diruatric and you are trying to stay hydrated. Also it has been said the teh caffeine can cause ulcers in our new pouch. Different doctors have different rules. But it seems most say these are a no no, I thought I would never be able to give up Diet Pepsi, but I did. Moving from caffeine to half caff to decaff during pre op/ That might prove harder than the soda. lo. -
welcome and your time is almost here. Sending you best wishes and prayers for a very successful surgery.

Partner Problem
Vicki Loichinger replied to Jbaz777's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Msix he is just scared and feeling a bit insecure. Just reassure him that you are doing this to be healthy so that the two of you can enjoy life together more. Part of him is teasing I am sure, but underneath he probably is having some fears. Just reassure him. Maybe a little extra attention. After all they are not used to things being all about us. We always take care of everybody else first. And now it is your turn. I would just really put the emphasis on health. -
weclome and great weight loss. You will have to tell us some of your daily schedules and how you have done so well. This is a great place for support and information. And we sure welcome the knowledge someone like you has. Again welcome

Hair Loss
Vicki Loichinger replied to crystalcdbailey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
that is good news. I am pre op and have been taking the biotin for about a month. Can't tell if it is helping any or not. But figured it couldn't hurt. I used to have very thick hair but after each child (four sons) I lost it by the handfuls and for the past several years it just keeps getting thinner and thinner. So I figure I will be bald after this surgery. Wonder how I would look in hats? lol -
