i wasn't tempted, but that is probably because I am pre op and I knew I could have some and nobody would know, or I wouldn't dump or anything. Maybe some of it is KNOWING YOU CAN"T have it that makes it so hard. So what I am saying is, it might have been easy for me yesterday but sure might not be easy for me after surgery. What you says makes a lot of sense Ellie. If we feel deprived we want it more. We can't let one piece mean a binge, and let it say heck I screwed up so I might as well eat the whole bowl. None of us should do that, if we are pre op, post op, dump or don't dump. We have to do something to change our way of thinking and dealing with this. We can do this.

Vicki Loichinger replied to music1618's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

msix, she is a hoot, I love it. Thanks for the smile today. Don't you just love what they come up with. And they are so spot on most of the time. I think showing her was a great idea. My stepson had some eye surgery a few weeks ago, he has cerebral palsy and he is non verbal (he never shuts up lol) so I used you tube to show him what was going to happen to him and it really helped when we went. He was prepared for everything. Till after that is, He walked back there like he owned the place and came out giving his dad and I the scolding of a life time, nobody could have mistook his meaning even if they didn't understand him. He was really mad at us. He is fine now.

this is my plan for exercise after healing from surgery too. I have done them a long time ago and they are a good workout. Probably the exercise I enjoy the most. We belong to the Y I need to utilize it. I am so glad you went. Helps motivate me to go in a few weeks. Surgery is next week. So as soon as I am cleared I am going

77 is a bunch, please don't be down on yourself. I know it has to be hard when you don't see the scale move and you are eating so little. But ask yourself if your clothes are loser, do you have more energy, could you be gaining some muscle mass? Everyone hits plateaus, Your body is just adjusting. It will still come off. Just don't be so hard on yourself. Look at the positives and know that your body is doing its thing in its time. Just keep following the rules, maybe add some more protein to boost it a bit, and even more water. see what happens. Hugs to you, I for one am super impressed with your progress.

Anyone Else Doing This 'alone' In One Way Or Another?
Vicki Loichinger replied to worm2872's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Funny you mentioned this today. As I was driving by myself to all my pre op stuff today It hit me, I am kinda doing this by myself. Yes my husband will be there the day of surgery, but I haven't ask him to come to any of the apts. or classes or support groups. And I really don't see my sisters being there the day of surgery or any of my sons. I am not sure they realize how drastic this is either. Since I had the lap band already and I did that out of state and was alone for that, Husband stayed to make sure I survived then came two days later to take me home. Maybe we act to strong for our own good sometimes. I am just not good at asking for help or hate to feel like I am imposing so I do it alone. Kinda sucks really. Just wanted you to know I understand what you mean Heather -
glad you are doing good, at least good enough to let us know you are doing good, lol. Sip Sip Sip, Walk Walk Walk, Rest Rest Rest and repeat. Praying for a quick recovery.

thinking of all of us. Had my nutrition class for post op eating, and class with nurse and then one on one with the nurse, signed papers ect. tomorrow I have labs, x rays, barrium swallow and meeting with internist,. Then just a week to wait. I don't know if I am nervous, excited, scared, moody, numb or what, it changes by the minute, I did go get my nails done and a pedicure today. So that was nice, I am just so ready to be on this journey with all of you,
