I believe once you are moved to full liquids and you can add protein in you will get more energy. Just sip and rest and walk and then rest some more. Your body is trying to heal. Just don't get dehydrated. Keep sipping. I really believe when you can add protein you will feel much stronger,

Really Anxious!
Vicki Loichinger replied to amcdowell779's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
crossing my fingers that somebody does their job and gets these records for you. OH the hoops we have to jump through, And it makes us feel so helpless and out of control. We are at the mercy of someone else through out this process, always waiting for somebody to do something. AND it seems we can't do anything to help the process along. I am really hoping for you that somebody gets on the stick and gets this done for you. Hugs -
Pre-Op Testing
Vicki Loichinger replied to newlife4leah's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yes you need to be fasting for the blood work. And also they may do a barium swallow and they want you empty for that also. I had to do the same prior to the pre op testing. -
Bmi To Low Without Comorbitities
Vicki Loichinger replied to joyaskins34's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
and the fact that you DON"T have any co morbidties, might mean if they allow you to have the surgery you can AVOID having any in the future. Makes no sense to me that we have to get so sick to get help. It is like a dag gone ferris wheel (and not the fun kind) lose weight, you don't weight enough, gain it back and then try again and be put on another six month diet and you lose and don't weight enough. Why is common sense so lacking in these requirements. Sorry for the vent. I just really feel for you and wish there was an answer and hope there is and you can have this surgery and avoid the illnesses that comes with obesity. Hugs to you -

Am I Doing Wrong Already?
Vicki Loichinger replied to kisersassy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
that is good. that you are eating it slow. Like others have said I bet the nerves are still a bit numb. So don't be surprised if next week it is a bit harder to eat the same things you are this week. But sounds like you are doing it perfectly. -
You get some rest, sip walk rest, glad you Doctor is looking out for you. Hugs

Well Surgery Didn't Happen Today.
Vicki Loichinger replied to Vicki Loichinger's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Losin it Thank you I am not going to derail all the work I have done. Going to continue to eat healthy and keep the pounds off I lost and somehow get these sugars down. More insulin, of course that will mean more inflamation and pain, and then weight gain. It is a vicious circle. But I truly respect my Doctor and Know that he is looking out for me. -

Well Surgery Didn't Happen Today.
Vicki Loichinger replied to Vicki Loichinger's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
thank you everybody, I am doing ok. I am thinking about having a few last meals this time. I had been being so good for so long, really since May and lost 24 pounds, But I just might have to have a couple of favorites I didn't think I would get for a long long time. I won't go crazy. -
Ty for adding me. And try to get used to the cpap, I have been on a Bipap for more than 10 years. I don't even lay down for a nap with out it. I will work on my sugars and you work on using the Cpap Deal? Deal! my surgeon is Dr. Clark, St Francis Hospital Indianapolis, IN

those are some great results. Hope you are feeling really good too.

Well Friends can I join your December group. I was at the hospital today all ready to go back and have surgery and the Doc came in and said he didn't feel comfortable doing the surgery today because my blood sugars have been high. I nearly begged him to do it anyway. But he just said he wouldn't feel right. So he has rescheduled it for Dec. 5. Meanwhile I need to get these sugars down. Wish me luck.

Just Had The Big Day
Vicki Loichinger replied to ahanson82520's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so glad you are doing so well. Sending you positive thoughts for a continued healing. -
congrats Jenn and I guess I will have to move to the dec group, I am back home. The surgeon didn't feel comfortable doing the surgery today because my blood sugar was high. I know he is being cautious and a good doctor but I sure am disappointed. It is rescheduled for Dec.5 and I am supposed to somehow get my blood sugars down. So another round of reg diet then two weeks pre op diet and a lot more insulin. Trying to tell myself things happen for a reason and God is in control.

Well Surgery Didn't Happen Today.
Vicki Loichinger replied to Vicki Loichinger's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It was 275 today and my ai c last wednesday was 9 so it was a combination of both. I told them I hadn't taken any insulin since monday because of being on clear liquids yesterday, but he just felt like healing or having a leak could be a big problem with the numbers that high for a while. SO I have a month to get them under better control. Which is sooo sooo hard. My sugar can go up on Air.
