Vicki Loichinger replied to rpil003's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

I am going to get some of those, chewable papaya . Glad you found something to help

Jenn, do you have an endocrinologist? if so or family Doc you wil need to call them on monday and give them a list of your sugars for these days on this new diet and ask them how you should adjust your medication. That is what I am having to do, Nothing feels worse then going low. Nothing. So check your numbers often and keep track of what you are eating what your numbers are and what amount of medicine/insiulin you are taking.

Shortness Of Breath?
Vicki Loichinger replied to Stephanie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Stephanie I sure hope they figure this out. I know you hate being there but I am so glad you went. I was afraid it was a pulmonary embolism to be truthful. They had just covered that in my pre op class and it sounded like they described. Praying they figure it out and you get back on the road to recovery. Stay in touch. Amazing how much we can worry about each other. -
kss, can you ask your doc for a prescription to help you sleep or could you ask him if you could take the new liquid over the counter med made by nyquil but it is just for sleep. I have really bad insomnia and have for many years. I take ambien every night. I sure hope I can continue it post op. There may even be other things that can help, melatonin, (health food store) and I think there is a "sleepy time tea" But you need to check with your Doc. Sleep is very important part of healing. Hope you get some rest soon.

Shortness Of Breath?
Vicki Loichinger replied to Stephanie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hoping they get you fixed up. Some of the lobes of your lungs aren't fully opening and getting air in. So doing the breathing exercises with that thing will help open them up. I have asthma and have been practicing with that pre op to keep my lungs open. I am just so glad you went to the Doc. I was so worried for you. If they give you some IV fluids that will really help you feel better. Gentle Hugs -

Not Doing So Hot
Vicki Loichinger replied to st.ephanie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
st.phanie sounds like you might be getting a handle on this, I am so glad. Good for you for taking a day for yourself. I hope this weekend you can take care of you too. Great idea to try the warm tea. Different people have said they need their liquid to be ice cold, hot, warm even some room temp. You have to find what works for you. Sending you the best wishes for the best weekend. -
Syntrax Nectar & Matrix
Vicki Loichinger replied to st.ephanie's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
and it is pretty darn good, I have been through two tubs since starting this process pre op and it goes in anything, can't tell the difference between that and the unjury unflavored. Both excellent in my opinion. -
Got A Date Band To Bypass
Vicki Loichinger replied to mwhmike's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Day after me, we are twins in a lot of ways, me band to bypass also. I am so happy you got a date. This is great news. Doing a happy dance for you., -
Shona you are doing great. Your body is just trying to adjust to all of this. You may notice loses in other ways besides just the scales, your clothes could be a little looser, you might have more energy, something that hurt before might not feel so bad now. Lots of ways to measure our success besides just the scales. Be kind to yourself. Follow your protocol and the weight will come off. Hugs to you.

Need Encouragement..
Vicki Loichinger replied to nursie026's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Keep in mind your hormones are all over the place after any surgery. I have to liken it to the "Baby blues" sort of. Worry about getting your fluids in right now, and slowly as you doc and nut have told you add the other foods. As far as knowing if you are full. you probably won't for a little while that is why it is important to measure. Starting out with a couple of ounces a meal and then building up. You have come so far. You can do this, I know you can. Trust yourself and all the knowledge you have been given these past several months. Treat yourself with kindness, you have just been through a major surgery and you need to sip, walk, rest and take gentle care of you. Gentle Hugs to You. We are all here for you. -
Yes I had my nook packed too. Even had hubby put a few books on it. But I figured I would have used it like a mini lap top. Just don't forget your charger.
-
you guys make my heart smile. To hear that you are up and walking and sipping and resting and some already home. Great job. Sending you the very best wis hes for a continued recovery and hoping the gas is gone for all of you soon. I dread that part a lot. I remember having it something awful after one of my sons was born (c-section) it was so painful.

Love This Lady!
Vicki Loichinger replied to JustJenn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Bless her heart she meant well. I started to say it will just take time, but you know what, I don't think anyone, except those who have or are going through this can truly understand. And well meaning people are going to try to comfort us with food, it is such a natural thing to do. Some people are just insensitive and rude, but most just don't understand. Hugs to you, -
I Was Approved Today Everyone!
Vicki Loichinger replied to beautifulmistake87's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
it certainly varies from insurance co to insurance co but seems like anywhere from a few days to couple of weeks, unless they ask for more info. this is the hardest part, the waiting. Crossing my fingers and toes for you. -
charger for your cell phone or any other electronic you might be bringing. if you have a favorite pillow you just can't sleep without bring it with a bright pillowcase on it, you can also use this on the ride home to hold against your tummy. Other than that I think you have got it. We really don't need as much as we think we do. Hope the weekend goes fast and you enjoy every second of it. Hugs to you.

That is great news, I am sure a bit nerve wrecking right now, but you will go through a thousand emotions between now and the 17th of December. We are here for you.

Please call your Doc, you don't want to feel like this all weekend and end up in the ER due to dehydration.
